Forbes. Forbes made a Top 10 for schools and their deals back in 2019. UCLA at the time was #1 with Under Armour. Louisville #2 with Adidas. Kansas #4. Washington #6. Nebraska #7. As far as Big Ten teams...

That’s literally the point you’re making for me and anyone else who wants Nike… go to a Nike school’s website and there’s 7+ pages of option…. Go to Indiana and there’s barely anything for sale….

if it doesn’t matter…. then why isn’t adidas just pushing as much content as possible? At one point adidas didn’t sell any Leo gear or Quarterzips.

why do you think Homefield even exists? It’s because Adidas didn’t have any exciting product, so they stepped in.

But for further Example: let’s say  Nike pays IU $3m up front but gets 20% of IU merch sales and they sell $10M of Nike gear 

Adidas pays $4M up front and we get 20% of $5m of Adidas sales

Which option would you take and why?

Ok great.  When IU signed with Adidas in 2015 it was top 5 largest deals.

And we've gotten well surpassed since then. Louisville and Kansas signed their deal just 2 years after we did. We are a nobody to Adidas. No reason to stick with them. Champion could do better and I'm not even sure they make products anymore.

Do you? Louisville got a 10 year just like Indiana and it almost doubled IUs contract with Adidas just two years after the fact. Kansas got a 14 year deal.

You clearly don't.  LT deal is signed -- becomes one of the most lucrative.  Value then dwindles as time moves forward as other schools negotiate new deals.  Rinse and repeat.

I know because they have better FOOTBALL programs and in Kansas case better BB to go with it. Nike offered in the couple mil a year range for IU. 

You also wouldn’t get any extra player NiL deals like adidas does for IU. They do more beyond the contract. 

Fix football and then maybe next time contract is up but non starter right now.

From what I can gather, the top deals today are in the $8-$10 million per year range.  My expectation would be IU’s next deal would be in line with those numbers and probably a bit more.

I don't care weather iu is nike or Adidas or whatever brand. Loaded argues nike is better because Adidas puts us behind kansas and whoever else. Why would nike put us above duke or oregon? Or whoever else million nike schools. We need a fing decent coach and everything else will come. We haven't had that imo. We certainly don't have that last 15 plus years.

It isn't because they put us behind Kansas and Louisville and a few other schools... It's that they are a crap company who gives out crap apparel to fans, gives zero creativity on the court, crap shoes, zero leverage in recruiting. We get treated by Adidas like the junk that accidentally falls out behind the junk drawer. Forgotten.
