Because every college football program now thinks they have to massively overpay their coaches after the slightest flash of success, or somebody else will. MSU made the same mistake with Tucker. Kansas will probably do it with Leipold pretty soon. There are so many programs out there that want to win big and win now and will throw unlimited money at coaches to try and make it happen.

Too bad IU tends to throw money at their coaches via buyouts then get cheap on coaching search.

Remember when people were mentioning Allen’s name for the Florida St job? Hilarious then even more so now. Programs are firing better coaches mid season but IU is perfectly content to watch this sh** show for a couple more years.

Yea but according to IU Twitter he gave us two good seasons so he is essentially a god.

If they fire him now, they'd owe him about $25 million. That's why he's not going anywhere ...

We have a problem with irrational exuberance after short periods of success.

Ask MSU and Texas A&M about giving huge extensions after a good season
