Class of '66 Old Fart

2026 General Recruiting Thread (Bball)

Recommended Posts

'26 Caleb Holt (Buckhorn HS, New Market, AL) has had some early IU interest.  Following info from Trent Markwith.

March 1, 2023:  Top 2026 prospect Caleb Holt led Buckhorn’s 2nd half comeback today as they picked up a 65-57 win to advance to the AHSAA 6A State Championship.  33 points, 14 rebounds, 5 steals, and 16-19 from the FT Line.  24 points in the 2nd half.

April 9, 2023:  2026 Caleb Holt had 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists for Game Elite’s 2024 group today in a win against Atlanta Xpress. Not sure there’s been a guy who has played with more activity than him this weekend.

Holt also named 2nd team MaxPreps Freshman All-American Team.  Helped guide the Bucks (28-7) to the Class 6A state title, averaging 16.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Holt exploded for 32 points and 18 rebounds in the state title game triumph against Mountain Brook.

We have previously checked out Thompson.  Be neat to have another Anthony Thompson in IU athletics.

2026 G/F Anthony Thompson @IndianaElite 2026's first game.  The smooth lefty made nine three-pointers on his way to 36 points. The Lebanon, Ohio product will be one to watch.

We are mentioned as interested and FWIW, I remember seeing our name associated with him during HS season.  He was a teammate of Jesse McCulloch (MSU commit) at Lutheran East HS in Cleveland.

Interesting snippet if it’s true: listed at 6’8” in the article. Saw him up close in January and he was maybe 6’6”. That’s a sold growth spurt.

DeZhon Hall did it all this weekend at the Charlie Hughes Shootout, averaging 26.2 PPG, 3 RPG, 4 APG, and 2 SPG for the weekend (4 games).  Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Ohio State, Ball State, Kent State, and Miami of Ohio were all in also to see him over the weekend.

A new '26 name from Max Feldman, National Grassroots Scouting for MadeHoops.  He's reporting Gabriel "Gabe" Sularski, a 6'6" guard who attends Benet Academy in Illinois (Leann Beaumont's high school) and played AAU for Meanstreets 15U on the EYBL circuit will be on a UV October 21-23.

Haven't found much on him other than this from last month in a Chicago Sun-Times story on young prospects  --  "... Benet’s Gabe Sularski has been a name on prospect lists. He waited patiently at the sophomore level this past season while a senior-dominated Redwings team made a run to the Class 4A state championship game, falling to Moline.

It’s going to take some time and there will be hiccups along the way, due mostly to a need for weight, strength and added experience, but Sularski is on track to be a bonafide star down the road.  Sularski can shed a defense as a slasher, handle the role of distributor and, while it needs considerable improvement, is a capable shooter. He put it all on display this past weekend at R-B.

The highly versatile 6-6 guard is the headliner of a youthful but extremely talented Benet program."

His 15U Meanstreets team didn't qualify for Peach Jam but here's his stats for his 16 other games.

10.9p; 4.9r; 2.1a; .5s; .2b; 1.6t averaging 27 min./gm.   43% FG; 32% on 3s; 71% FT

Eric Bossi on E.J.Hazelett at the NCAA College Basketball Academy.  Hazelett attends Franklin Central HS and is a kid we've been tracking.

EJ Hazelett, SF, 2026- A good sized wing from Indiana, Hazelett caught our attention thanks to his versatility, length and a frame that he can grow into. He showed the ability to hit some jump shots, wasn’t scared to attack the rim and is an athlete who can get out ahead of the pack in transition where he knows what to do once he gets to the rim.
