Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 Alex Karamanos - 2024 5 Liam McNeeley played a terrific game today in the win for Montverde Academy (FL). He finished with 29 PTS, 6 REB, 3 AST, and 3 STL. Shot nearly 50%. Took what the defense gave him and was very aggressive the entire game. lillurk 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 Rob Cassidy - Four-star forward Liam McNeeley has spent his senior year making a convincing case to add a star and move up the rankings. It was more of the same Thursday at the Metro Classic. But while the Montverde Academy Star’s 29 points got most of the pub, his defensive effort was every bit as impressive. The uncommitted McNeeley has rounded into a true two-way player as a senior. On Thursday he blocked a pair of shots, grabbed six rebounds and tipped countless passes while causing havoc for La Lumiere from whistle to whistle. McNeeley, who seems high on Texas, Indiana, Michigan and Oklahoma, is a solid bet to see his ranking improve when the Rivals150 refreshes next month. Demo and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

To nip this in the bud right up front, no, McNeeley is not a senior, Cassidy has that wrong, or a reclass candidate to my knowledge. Class of '66 Old Fart, ALASKA HOOSIER and mamasa 2 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 Adam Finkelstein - Liam McNeeley, Montverde Academy (FL), 2024 29pts (8-18 FG, 2-5 3pt, 11-12 FT), 6reb, 3ast (1to) in 32min One of the biggest themes of this Montverde team is the amount of trust that McNeeley has earned from the coaching staff. He may not be the highest profile prospect on the team and certainly isn’t the most explosive, but he’s the one who they entrust to make decisions, knock down shots, and often times be the first domino in their half-court offense. They utilize him in a variety of ways. He’ll come off ball-screens and hand-offs, but also be run off screens away from the ball. The common denominator is his ability to read the defense and make the right play. The fact that he’s also a knockdown shooter from behind the arc and has a knack for getting himself to the free-throw line only helps. McNeeley still has some things to clean up defensively, as he has to rely on positioning and technique above sheer lateral quickness, but he’s had an undeniably terrific season to date. One of the most accurate capsules of McNeeley I’ve read. The kid’s a complete offensive widget. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

I didn't watch the whole game yesterday, but when I did watch, he was the one that flashed the most. He seemed to always be around the action and obviously had a great offensive game.
