X talking, seems to align with TJD talking after the first PSU game about how they need to play with e and listen to the coach. Hopefully, coach wasn't telling them to get in trouble. At least this gives us ANOTHER opportunity to see if we actually respond or if it's just talk again. 1 for 20 isn't just the shooting percentage for some of our players but it will finally be the time we backup the talk too!

Didn't IU win 4 of their next five after the Penn State game?

Yeah, but Ohio State was down! And Purdue was a flash in the pan! Nebrasketball and Minnesota suck! We blew it at Iowa which trumps all 4 wins!
No but. Implying that we are in a position with this schedule to do it again is beyond optimistic.

No touch. Dude just throws it at the basket half the time. He just ain't Tim Duncan. Kid needs to take a class on what the big glass wall that's connected to the goal is.

Ha ha ha, true that!  He shoots a 2 foot shot like he does his free throws.  I think if he uses the glass more, he might hit more!

If he was in a China shop, he would be the bull!  ;)

Read the original context of the question:  that all IU does is talk and not act, using TJD’s statement after Penn State as proof….yet IU went on a run after it:  What happens now is irrelevant to that statement when it’s false that it was ‘just talk and not action’ before.

I am not arguing just pointing out even if the kids respond in a positive way it may be hard to tell cause we may be going on a big losing streak. We may respond well and lose 5 in a row

I love these games (the random selection of x as an example). What is magical about 5 games...? In the 6th game, is it not important to play with e and listen to the coach?

Even during those 5 games there were signs but lets continue to ignore those signs because that wouldn't fit the narrative. (Please don't hit me with the non-fan or negative fan reply, they did some good things during those games) They laid major turds all over the court in the 6th one. Should they conduct these meetings after every 5 games. As I've stated since early in the season, it's about how they've played and not the result.

Yeah, my question is did the other players know that the 5 snuck out of their hotel? If so did they confront them? Did they really think that 5 of them go missing, that no one would notice? How do you welcome them back? In 1978 the season was not the same from Thanksgiving on when Butch Carter ratted out the 7 players in Alaska. There were trust issues the rest of the season.

I am ok with confronting them, but nobody likes a rat.

IMO, the 5 suspended players let the coaching staff, teammates and university down.  The 3 upperclassman should know better and weren’t displaying good leadership, I think they should be given their walking papers and put their names back in the transfer portal.  I know many on here won’t agree with that, but they didn’t set an example and probably should be made an example of.  It probably won’t happen but they totally let everyone down, including the fans!

IDK, lets not go all death penalty on them.  This wont be the last time college athletes break curfew and/or smoke a little weed.

It would have been incredibly interesting to be a fly on the wall in the locker room after the game last night. This whole thing could go so many different ways. If the 5 players just simply take their suspension in stride and try to move on, it's hard to imagine there won't be a divide amongst the team. If that happens, we may see some guys not make it to the end of the season. Hell this is both Durr and Stewart's second suspension, right? Now, did TJD or Race or whoever actually played last night, speak up and get into these guys about how much they let them down so it wasn't just the coaches? I wouldn't have any issues if they did, but my hope is that didn't have or need to happen. My hope is this.....at some point yesterday, maybe even right in that locker room after the game, each one of those 5 stood up in front of the guys who played last night and the staff and owned their mistake, profusely apologized, acknowledged this loss is on them, and said whatever they felt they needed to say to get their teammates to trust them and openly welcome them back....then of course they better have started right then and there proving it.

Even after sleeping on it, there's nothing anybody can say that will convince me we won't lose the next 3 games and limp to the finish line. But if my "hope" of a scenario happened, that may be the catalyst for change, and even give us a fighter's chance to actually win the next 3.

Don't forget Woodson was in the same spot years ago when he played.  He'll be able to talk sense to these guys, having been there, done that.  Obviously not knowing the extent of the conduct, hopefully it will be water over the damn and lets go and win out gentlemen.

I think the weed rule is part of the scholarship. I remember getting some paperwork talking about scholarships being revoked if convicted of any drug related charges to include weed.

There is no need to rate. We should start here: who is the leader on this team?

That’s a very good question!! I am not sure the players know the actual leader is!  I am sure CMW is asking that very same question.

Beat an O$U team handily that was a little different after coming back from their COVID break

Beat a cellar dweller

Lost our mind before losing the game, still turning the ball over because we didn't get it in the middle of their "pressure" (this loss is okay because it's on the road)

Managed to get over the hump after stumbling a bit late in the second to get our first roadie at THE cellar dweller

Won our super bowl (!!) with Rob having the game of his career

I guess we should schedule those team meetings every 2.5 games to remember to play with e and listen to the coach!

Fair enough, and it's a rule.  However, the damn thing is legal is many states, including the one they where in.  And it's college.  These kids do college kid things.  My postion is, don't set them up to fail.  Set them up to grow from their mistakes.
