Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 4, 2022 Author Posted April 4, 2022 Eric Bossi on USA Basketball mini-camp Darryn Peterson, SG – Sheesh, this kid has a lot to offer as an off the dribble creator of shots and passing opportunities. Not surprisingly given his young age he needs strength, but man does he already flash a deep and versatile game on the offensive game with really good size for a guard at 6-foot-4 or maybe even a little bigger. Pittsburgh and St. John’s have offered as did the previous staffs at LSU and Xavier. Many more will do the same for a guy who is already establishing himself as a top guard in the class. Demo 1 Quote

It’s fair to say a kid has made an impression when a guy who watches hundreds of kids every year starts a writeup with “Sheesh.” Class of '66 Old Fart, lillurk and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 21, 2022 Author Posted December 21, 2022 Pretty much off the IU radar but this is newsworthy nonetheless. Object lesson in what happens when a Pro meets a gym class. Halftime score was 59-11. Peterson had 39. Played the 2nd half with a running clock. Kept him in long enough to break 50. Could have scored 100 if that was the goal. Class of '66 Old Fart, lillurk and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 18, 2023 Author Posted May 18, 2023 Per Jamie Shaw, Peterson is putting up 24.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks while shooting 50.6% FG on the Adidas 3SSB 16u Circuit in April. While Peterson does have an IU offer, no indications that we're actively recruiting him. A story behind the On3 paywall suggests its UNC, pUKe, Michgian, Michgian State and O$U that are the most aggressive. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

And the kid has said more than once that he’d like to stay near home, though we know how that goes. No one’s closer. Also probably explains why Duke didn’t jump in hard. That kid screams Duke.
