NCAA MBB Transfer Portal

Why not wait until the day after the championship game

Yeah.....doing so after the elite eight will put the final four teams at a week's disadvantage.  Additionally, if a player on a final four team wanted to transfer, he probably wouldn't want to enter the portal before the final four occurred.

On the Field of 68 a couple weeks ago this was the topic of discussion. One coach said that the day before the championship game the UCONN coaching staff was on zoom with players from the portal.

They may have been on a zoom with players from other teams (which I believe is against NCAA by-laws), but the portal does not open until the day after the championship game.

Don't think that is accurate

March 13 signaled the official opening of the portal, which means coaches across the country are juggling how to manage their respective rosters heading into next year, while many are also playing in postseason tournaments.

I believe you are correct and I was incorrect.  I thought it had said the day after the championship but it actually says day after the championship selection.

Rothstein:  Iowa State transfer Jeremiah Williams has committed to Rutgers, per his Twitter page. Started his career at Temple. Since he's a two-time transfer, Williams will need an NCAA waiver to play next season.

Journey:  two years at Temple.  Second season shortened by a shoulder injury.  Transferred to Iowa State.  Achilles tendon injury came him from ever playing there.  Hit the portal again this year and initially transferred to Illinois.  Illini fans were not pleased at the time because it filled their last scholly I believe and didn’t seem to be a fit.  Decommitted to Illinois, now going to Rutgers.

point guard by nature with decent size.  Not a good shooter but decent defender.  Due to injuries, has played in only 38 games in three years.  In 32 mpg at Temple averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 reb and 4.2 assists.  Shot 42/27/64.

This feels entirely possible. Indianapolis kid with a Michael Lewis connection. Had a meh but not terrible year at Mizzou a couple years back. And strictly a 1 year guy.
