I would love to see him go to ISU..i think Schwartz is doing an excellent job there. He doing well with the transfer game, but if he could get a 4 year kid who’s local…to replace Cooper Neese (who was local and transferred in from Butler) it would be awesome. If Joey has his eyes set on Power 5, I’d completely understand it but it would be nice to watch him in Terre Haute!

He let's his kids shoot too. That would be great for Joey.

Is that confirmed what happened?

The reason isn't official yet but there's been word for a while that admissions was going to be a problem. UM has had a lot of trouble clearing transfers in the last few years.

Hmmmm.....

Kelvin Sampson has interviewed for the Bucks position.  Might be worth keeping an eye on players that had transferred to them through the portal to see if they get their release from Houston and re-enter the portal.

Two players that they had signed:

Damian Dunn, shooting guard from Temple: 6'5", 15.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, shot 41/35/81.

L.J. Cryer, combo guard from Baylor:   6'1", 15.0 ppg, 2.1 reb, 2.0 assists, show 45/42/89.

Is there also a provision where players can transfer even after the window has closed if their coach leaves? I thought I saw that but may be mistaken

It seems as though there should be since incoming freshmen can get released from their NLI if the coach leaves and go elsewhere with no penalty. Of course, this in the NCAA we're talking about so just because it makes sense doesn't mean that's the way it is. Probably the opposite.

Would be a big loss to UH if the Bucks were to pick him. He’s built a heck of a bball program here and has an established well run UH basketball camp

Gotta think Kellen would take over in this scenario, right? I’d be kinda surprised if Kelvin took the interview without floating that idea by decision makers.

Unless of course this is just contract shenanigans.

How surprising that a student-athlete from University of No Classes couldn’t get admitted to a good academic school.

Hey, they gave the basketball team a pass, but UNC is a helluva good school for those that actually earn a degree. Top 10 public university in the nation.

I won't argue that NC is a great academic school. That reputation should be stained though imo. Remember the got away with it because they let not athletes take fake classes also

Yes, I knew that UNC is top 10 public (and difficult to gain entrance) with UM, Texas, UVA,  etc but was just joking how their basketball team credits were viewed by another good school.
Still don’t understand how such a good school allowed what they did in regards to their athletes. Very SEC’sh.

Don’t know, but wouldn’t put contract shenanigans past Sampson….

Basketball and football. UNC is a very good school, and like Iu has a great business school, but man a history, as in multiple years, of an entirely fake studies program? That’s more than an asterisk in my book.
