Nicknamed "Baby Shaq" and plays with a lot of force. In 11 games where he played 20+ mpg, he averaged 9.8 ppg, 8 rpg, and 3.3 bpg. With a year of college basketball under his belt and another year of conditioning, he probably won't be as foul prone as he was this year. Like Demo said... he plays so hard. Really fun guy to watch and with 3 years of eligibility I'd love to see us in the mix but don't want to get my hopes up. Brutal for Shaheen and SHU that he just can't pay guys enough to keep em. One of the hardest playing true 5’s you will ever see. Great feet. Has fantastic timing as a shot blocker. His post offense is still crude but his hands and his feet are so good that it’ll come. Sets giant screens. Forget 3mil centers, I want this kid right here. I could teach this man some post moves! Quote

Remember what Coach Knight said about the obsession with recruiting all the reporting on it and following it-"It's just mental masturbation". With that being said let's dive in and see what you think of this of this potential portal haul. And yes forget the 3 mil centers! Najai Hines-$1.5 Kwame Evans or Desean Goode-$2.0 Stefan Vaaks-$3.5 Jalen Haralson-$3.5 Markus Burton-$2.0 Daquan Davis-$.5 Finley Bizjack or Michael Cooper-$.5 been watching Vaugh Karvala and the Belle Vista team in the Chipolte Nationals and have been impressed with his 7'0" teammate Amadu Seini he had 15 points and 18 rebounds in todays game and is a presence inside. Just dug into him a little and see that North Carolina and Kansas are starting to show interest. I say sign him now and pair him with Hines in the middle. Add this crew to Sisley and one pick any one holdover and the 3 freshmen and lets go. The only name on your list I'm a hard no on is Kwame. I think with tools he came out of 'Verde with and the pace of his development, it seems like a work issue. The measurables and talent should've made him a lottery pick by now. I hope we come out hitting the bigs first. A three man rotation between the 4 and 5. I'd be ecstatic with Hines, Fru and a shocker....Suigo. Point is my next concern. I personally like physical pgs. I'm convinced the ball you could get from Harrelson would be at the point, and load up with shooters. Note on Karvala.....he's going to play next year. Quote

BA47591 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Is Vaakes the best power 4 shooter in the portal? Will the offense need to adjust due to lack of Wilkersons? Quote
BA47591 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I've got mix and match portal fever, I have to step away. Quote

Tyler Lundblade is probably the best shooter that was in the portal but he's from Belmont and he already committed to Tennessee as a grad transfer. It will be interesting to see how Rick Barnes plays him because by most accounts he was a below average defender at the mid major level -- and the first thing you think about a Barnes team is that play defense. RaceToTheTop Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Boden Kapke, Boston College center. 6'11" 255 pounds. Stretch 5. 10.6 ppg, 5.7 RPG. 48 / 31 / 71. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote
Popular Post Demo Posted April 4 Popular Post Posted April 4 Hmmm… UL PF Mouhamed Camara is portalling. Came through the NBA Africa program and redshirted last year. Seem to recall reading that he was this insane athlete and specimen who was just not ready to play yet. Must have shown enough in exhibitions that their fans seem sorry about this. Now he’s been in UL’s program for a year. So, a high upside lottery ticket 4 man with 4 years of eligibility who is probably reasonably priced and the staff would know very well. Just sayin’ cybergates, Stuhoo, Henryville Hoosier and 5 others 8 Quote

Just sayin’ Watched the videos of him and to my untrained eye he looks pretty raw. In the Louisville intro video he says he has been playing basketball since he was a young kid so he is not brand new to the sport. He is a great shot blocker, rim runner with some post moves . He actually shot 37.5 percent from three in the NBA Academy developmental league in Senegal. Unfortunately all of the video is from that academy so hard to know how much he has improved with a years worth of coaching at Louisville. I would think Thomas Carr would have a very good idea if he is worth the risk. another possibilty I suppose. Demo 1 Quote
