It could have to do with the super conference that was formed this year. Where those super teams just play each other in NIBC events throughout the year

MaxPreps reports them as 9-3 but they're actually 10-3 and about to go to 11-3 as they're leading Wasatch Academy by 20 with the 4th quarter just getting underway.   In the Wasatch game, Jalen just 2 pts. but he has 4 reb; 8 asst and 1 TO in 22 min.

 

My bad, Bishop Walsh is today's opponent, not Wasatch.

USPS is almost certainly right about the conference. Also think the depth of talent is down a bit. In past years a Soph like Queen wouldn’t have been in their rotation.

Finkelstein on the broadcast was saying how unheard of this conference is for high school.  He said usually these power teams might meet up once or twice before Geico nationals at some of the events but now they will be playing each other throughout the season

Last night Montverde ended Camden (NJ) 44-game winning streak 52-40.  Montverde jumped out to a quick 22-4 1stQ lead and it was 32-18 at the half.  But Camden dominated the 3rd Q and it was 38-27 to start the 4th.  Camden's last loss was in Dec. 2019.  Have yet to see any game stats.

Tonight Montverde took care of DeMatha 86-65 (Tyrell Ward and Rodney Rice sound familiar?)  Jalen with 12 pts. on 5-10 FG; 1-3 on 3s; 1-2 FT; 11 reb; 13 assists; 4 stl; 0 blk; 4 TO in 30 min. of action.

Kwame Evans 3 pts on 1-2 on 3s; 5 reb; 1 asst; 1 stl; 1 blk; 1 TO in 9 min. of play.

Derik Queen 8 pts. on 3-4 FG; 2-2 FT; 2 reb in 13 min. of play.
