Aaron Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Just an FYI. Beaumont has not played yet this year so wins and expectations should stay the same with this announcement. CSP 1 Quote

Wasn't it known she needed it at the beginning of the season? Quote

But she hasn't been healthy or playing all season. My point is expectations should not change based on this news since we have not seen her this season and won't. Quote

They have been trying to avoid it and rehab it enough so she could play this season and have surgery when year ends as Moren made clear in pressers. Worked for Mackenzie Holmes multiple times until she finally had the surgery after last season. Clearly didn't work this time with Beaumont unfortunately. My guess is she wouldn't play this season regardless of when surgery was or they would have just done it immediately and brought her back later on. HoosierHoopster and Stuhoo 1 1 Quote

TTT Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Fish gives IU Ladies kudos on Jake Query show this morning. Though incorrectly saying IU Ladies knocked off 13th ranked Iowa at Iowa. (23rd ranked). Fish stated Woodson show has not been weekly this year. Then, Fish stated IU Ladies deserve much accolades as they have a really good roster and Teri Moren does a phenomenal job. Tune into Inside Indiana 6:55pm with Teri Moren Monday evening January 13, 2025. (7:05pm per Fish). *tune in a couple minutes early. Little bit confused: Hoosier TV shows T.Moren on tv channel at 6:55 and 7:05. Also lists audio for inside men’s basketball at 7:05. CAN’T COACH WOODSON DO ANYTHING RIGHT? I plan to tune into B 97 at 6:30pm and Hoosier tv channel…and listen to music for a half hour if nothing else and catch T.Moren show when it starts. Quote
CSP Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Moren is 135-37 (78.4%) the last 6 seasons (counting this season) -The previous 4 seasons we have spent multiple weeks inside the Top 10 -The last 5 seasons we have finished the season ranked 20th, 12th, 11th, 3rd, and 12th in the country JerryYeagley23, TTT, J34 and 1 other 3 1 Quote

TTT Posted January 14 Posted January 14 T. Moren show was a full hour with Austin Render. Always interesting to hear T. Moren talk about her philosophy and the way things are done. Not done recruiting for 25-26. Spoke to her responsibility to protecting the locker room while recruiting transfer portal keeping a high character and integrity program and culture. The appreciation given to the fans that make up the Assembly Hall atmosphere are also appreciated by opponents. T. Moren knows there are two big challenges ahead. Fun listening to some of her terminology in describing basketball. One phrase when talking about defense is “ the meet and greet” to guard a player. Noted still working on defense emphasis on the 5 position. T. Moren challenging Garzon to be more consistent each game at high level. And she is mad about rebounding as IU Ladies have lost that battle last 4 games. Also noted call from Glen Box as she is letting team get out and run more (she felt she held them back some earlier). She likes having former players on staff noting Patberg is a basketball nut. Holmes working with Faith (upside) as well as Strip and Lilly. Emphasis on player development with examples Chloe and Holmes did not walk into IU as all American….It was hard work. Also T. Moren stated that Lenee Beaumont injury was a huge loss for IU Ladies because she had an excellent summer and now IU Ladies don’t have the team that they thought they had. This doesn't sound like someone who needs more NIL money or doesn't have the resources to get the players she wants as some on here seem to think. This strikes me more as getting players that fit her system by design. This is kind of what I suspected but to me this kind of confirms it. As many coaches previously have taught us, going against your system just for top talent is more detrimental then helpful (see Steve Pikiell this year). I would like to see them get a starting level big ten center (and I had zero issues giving Lily that chance this season but she has shown she is better suited for back up role which is no ones fault). You don't need someone on Mackenzie Holmes' level. However, an upgrade in talent here is needed unless Faith Wiseman is the answer once she develops which is possible. Guards are presumably fine for now and with Lenee back next year that is three backcourt players in Yarden, Shay, and Lenee who are all starting level big ten guards. Just a small upgrade in the frontcourt should be sufficient moving forward. LockdownD 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 Mike Schumann @ The Daily Hoosier @daily_hoosier Via release, Teri Moren has announced the addition of Paul Miller to her staff as a Director of Scouting and Analytics. Miller joins the Hoosiers after two seasons (2023 and 2024) as an assistant coach with the Indiana Fever. Inside The Hall - Miller joins the Hoosiers after two seasons (2023 and 2024) as an assistant coach with the Indiana Fever. In his role, he worked primarily with Indiana’s post players and the team’s offense. The organization ranked third in offense this past season and finished with a 20-20 record, making its first playoff for the first time since 2016. HoosierHoopster and mamasa 2 Quote

I have hope that this will improve our recruiting of top talent. There is nothing like having an individual on staff that was at the next level. TTT, mamasa and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

They've been at a size and athleticism disadvantage in a few games now. Quote
