Story on Joey Hart and this quote from him:   “They (Indiana) are waiting on decisions from other guys, I believe.”   “I’m definitely interested in IU and I think they are interested in me as well,” Hart said. “We’ll see where we’re at after (the Kentucky visit) … they said they would get back to me after my trip to Kentucky.”

He visits KY today.

It seems IU is interested in Wilcher and Reeves too and foremost.  Sounds like Hart wants to make a decision by end of weekend, and I don’t think we have answers from Wilcher/Reeves before then.  Interesting conundrum.

Could hart be a preferred walk on. Don't think we use the last scholarship on him. Make him earn one down the road

Interesting should pUKe not extend Hart an offer although given their roster situation they'd probably extend me an offer.

I am really enjoying the idea of Hart telling Cal, “ Yeah, IU’s trying to decide if they have room for me. So I’ll get back to you mid-week.”

No.  He's a D1 player, no need for him to accept a walk on spot.  It's just a matter of where he plays D1 ball.  Sounds like  IU prefers others and I'm not sure they would choose to offer if they don't get others.  Kentucky isn't in that boat because they need bodies.  They have a hell of five man freshman class but literally nothing else.

FWIW, I've seen no evidence that Hart left pUKe with a formal offer after yesterday's visit.  Doesn't mean he won't still get one but given pUKe's situation I would have expected an on-the-spot offer if they were truly interested.

His visit ends today and from what I’ve gathered he will be committing tonight or tomorrow to UK. UK fans don’t seem all that thrilled either lol.

Based on the Indy star article, it seems as though we have said we will take Hart, but only after and if Reeves and Wilcher turn us down.

His other option is a Kentucky bird in the hand offer.

My prediction of what is most likely/what I'm hoping for, at this point, I think 

• Hart goes to UK
• Wilcher announces elsewhere (probably wants to decide asap and get on campus somewhere) 
• Reeves finishes up undergrad at ISU in August and announces he's coming to Bloomington

 

Reeves misses summer workouts but he is already a seasoned college pro and ready to contribute. We pick up momentum and are projected us as top 2 or 3 in the Big Ten...maybe some early season chemistry kinks to iron out, rotations, etc. 

But when we get rolling... watch out! 

I think we're in good shape in any case but if we pick up Reeves (or Wilcher) that is the icing on the cake.

I’ve watched him play a lot of basketball and of all the indictments on that program right now, this is one of the most telling.

I’ve gathered that he was miles better on the AAU circuit than he was for Linton, so I suppose that matters assuming it’s accurate, but when I watched Linton, more often than not he was the 2nd most important guy on his own team. He always struck me as pretty good at everything, but nothing about him is elite. Good athlete, good shooter, good defender, but all of that against kids that 99/100 times won’t play basketball beyond HS. Never saw him take over a game, including in close games. 

As I always say I’m not an evaluator and I didn’t watch every game, but he never once struck me and my untrained eye as a high major guy.
