Indiana was in to see Newton (GA) @NewtonRamsHoops teammates Stephon Castle @StephonCastle and Jakai Newton @jakai_newton

Jakai Newton already holds an IU offer.  Castle is a 6'6" 4-star CG.

Hasn't seemed to be a particularly high IU target for quite some time.

And that was while playing for Chris Hawkins. If I remember correctly, Woody and staff brought him and Booker to IU for an unofficial and viewed them at a tourney in Indy. Booker came away with an offer; Hooks came away with a need for an attitude adjustment.

Now he'll be playing for a school opened by the admittedly bi-polar Kanye West without a website or students yet.

The chances of this ending well, unfortunately, are so small.

JaQualon “JQ” Roberts @JQ_co2023

Blessed to receive an offer from Indiana University! Thank you to Coach @MikeWoodsonNBA and @CoachDaneFife for coming to my open gym this evening!

Wonder how close he was to committing on the spot!

Sandy Spiel's Georgia high school pre-season boy's all-state listings.  Kaleb Banks named on the 1st team 4A and a number of other kids that we've offered or taken multiple looks at also appear.

The talent in and around Atlanta is borderline ridiculous. Kanaan Carlyle is a consensus top 20 ‘23 kid and yet it’s perfectly reasonable that he’s not preseason 1st team all state. If Rosemond can create a reliable pipeline down there he can name his price going forward.

Bruce Thornton is going to be a pain in the a** for the 2'ish years he is in the B1G - not looking forward to going against the young man, uber talented.

Would a realistic class here be newton cupps booker?

Loooooong way to go, but those are three of the names in the direct mix. I also think that JQ Roberts is a higher probability tier recruit.

Who else becomes a strong possibility will depend on how we do this year, which five stars show interest, and where we have playing time holes due to departures.
