IU vs Notre Dame 12/21 Noon ESPN

Recommended Posts

This is a pretty ironic statement considering the state of our program.

Butler has probably been the most consistently relevant team in the state the last 15 years

Last 15 yea. Isn’t a hard accomplishment though. Since the Crossroads has started, you could argue Notre Dame who went to back to back E8’s in 14-15 and 15-16.

So you guys don’t let me respond to somebody unprovoked completely sounding like a moron and telling me I sound scared while leaving his post. That’s BS.

So anyone who doesn’t want to play in the Crossroads is a moron to you? Because they’d rather play UK or someone over it. Man, never thought I’d see the day where someone would rather play Butler instead of UK.

No just you. You are also putting words in my mouth as I never said that. I said you were a jackass. I never said the rest of what you said so that again is a you thing. Oh I also just said you were a troll.

You can think I’m a troll, but I’m not the only one here who believes what I do. So when you say what I believe is stupid, you’re saying to everyone else believes the same.

You are a troll. Plus I don’t know what the prophet Joe believes so I literally have zero clue what you are talking about here. This was started by you responding to me on something that wasn’t at you or anything. You said I sound scared. So I said you sound like a jackass. So I have zero clue what you are babbling about. I wasn’t arguing anything against you. I didn’t quote you. I have no clue what you are on today. You are just literally a troll looking for a reaction. You got one.

So you have a problem with playing Kentucky at a neutral site for recruiting reasons? Because it’s really hurt them getting recruits over us right? Lyles and Brooks both? Even Mulder who would have been a JUCO from Vincennes. That means nothing. The game needs played, doesn’t matter where it is. If they want to play the recruiting game here in Indiana, sounds like we need to step up our game and beat them at it. You sound scared.

Takes 2 to tango.  We offered a fair compromise, they refused because they're "non-traditional" or some other crap.  When they're willing to work on a compromise I want IU to go to the table.

That's not fear.  One side was willing to compromise to make it work, the other wasn't.

Who cares about the compromise. Just play in Indy. We’re all of you complaining when it was at a neutral site before?

Yep. Soon after Cal is gone it will happen again. I am honestly not that worried about it. We did our part. They kept shifting the goal posts to make it so it didn’t happen. His “non-traditional” schedule didn’t have IU on it. I am fine with that because their current one at times has backfired.

Even then I wanted to see home and home, yes.

One (IU) tried to make the game work, the other side really didn't.   That's not on IU.

It’s been 8 years. Don’t want to play in Indy? Go play in London. No recruiting advantage for anyone.

pUKe didn't really want the game to happen.  If you want to point the finger anywhere, that's where you should.  If anyone is showing fear (your word, not mine) me thinks it'd be the side that didn't really try to make the game happen.

Franklin Named Big Ten Co-Freshman Of The Week

Indiana University guard Armaan Franklin has been named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, the fourth time a Hoosier has been honored this season. He scored 17 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with 15.7 seconds left in the Hoosiers 62-60 win over Notre Dame in the Crossroads Classic.  He shared the award with D.J. Carton of Ohio State.  Teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis has been honored three times this season.

Franklin, who began the day shooting 14% from three-point range making 4 of 28 long distance shots, came into the game with IU leading 17-16 and hit a 3-pointer and three free throws in two possessions to allow IU to build momentum and take a 34-23 lead into halftime.  He had 9 points at the break.

The Hoosiers led by as many as 17 in the second half but Notre Dame rallied and had a 59-54 lead with the ball with just over 3 minutes left.  Franklin hit another triple with 2:49 to go, took a charge and forced a turnover with 1:38 remaining, assisted on the game tying basket by Jackson-Davis with a minute to play and  drilled the game-winner with 15.7 seconds left from the left corner.

For the day, he made 5 of 6 field goals, 4 of 5 from three-point range and 3 of 4 free throws.

I’m sure if the new AD said “hey let’s play in Indy for 2-3 years and see about getting a home and home and back to playing neutral for a few years.” But gotta start it back up first. And if playing somewhere other than Bloomington or Lexington is how, then get it done.

Again, we have already tried exactly that since the series was suspended TWICE and nothing has changed. Sounds like they are scared...
