How about this for an oddity.  The entire Paradise Jam field of 8 teams are undefeated!!  Our Hoosiers open up tomorrow evening  at 8:00 ET against #5 South Carolina.  On Friday at 5:45 ET they take on #2 Baylor and on Saturday at 5:45 ET face Washington State.  

 Undefeated No. 17 Indiana heads to the Virgin Islands to take part in the 2019 Paradise Jam. The three-day tournament begins on Thanksgiving night and runs through Saturday in St. Thomas.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
South Carolina
South Carolina improved to 6-0 after a win at Clemson on Sunday. They have a Top 5 win over then No. 4/5 Maryland and are coming off of a 23-10 season in 2018-19 where they advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. The Gamecocks are led by freshman forward Aliyah Boston's 13.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
 
Baylor
The defending national champions are also undefeated at 5-0 and leading the nation in rebounding margin (+23.0) and third in scoring at 95.4 points per game. BU is led by sophomore forward Nalyssa Smith's 17.6 ppg. and 8.8 rpg. Four others average double figures as the Bears shoot the nation's best 56.7 percent from the field.
 
Washington State
Washington State also brings an unblemished record down to USVI notable wins over BYU and Boise State. Redshirt senior Borislava Hristova averages 23.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Cougars who average 75.8 points per game on a 47.5 shooting percentage.

  • The Hoosiers moved up one spot to No. 17 in this week's Associated Press Top 25, up a spot from their No. 18 ranking a week ago. Their appearance in the polls continues to make history for the program, who has achieved its highest ever ranking in school history. They also made a jump, two spots, in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches poll on Tuesday to No. 23.
  • IU will make its third ever appearance in the Paradise Jam and the first since 2007-08. It is 1-3 all-time in the event and also played in St. Thomas in the 2003-04 season.
  • Sophomore guard Grace Berger was named the program's first Big Ten Player of the Week in nearly three years on Monday. The Louisville, Ky. native's 23-point performance at Florida on Friday earned her the honors as she went 10-for-15 from the floor and had a career-high five steals and three rebounds. She's the first IU player of the week since Amanda Cahill on Dec. 26, 2016.
  • Berger leads the program averaging 17.5 points per game and adding 5.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. She has scored in double figures in three of four games and
  • Indiana is 4-0 for the second-consecutive year and third time under sixth year head coach Teri Moren. It has started the season with four straight wins 15 times in school history.
  • In its first road test of the season, the Hoosiers were paced by Berger and senior forward Brenna Wise in a win at Florida. Wise added 16 points and six rebounds in the victory as IU shot 50 percent from the field.

The Hoosiers return stateside to face No. 19 Miami In the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in Coral Gables.

I make the best candied yams on the planet. That’s pretty much my diet for the day. Sprinkle in some Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, ham and a roll.
