At halftime Moeller trailed Elder 14-13.  I'm presuming it was Elder's strategy to play stall ball and not Moeller's.  That strategy continued into the second half with Elder leading 27-22 after 3 and Elder held on to defeat Moeller 42-40.  Duncomb with just 3 pts. on 1-5 FG and 1-2 FT.  He attempted only 1 FG in the second half.  He had 10 reb; 3 assts; 1 stl and 4 TO.  He fouled out but it had to be very late in the game as he played 29 minutes.

Evan Mahaffey played 28 minutes scoring 7 points; 8 reb; 3 assts; 1 stl; 3 TO.

That was Moeller's first loss in conference since they lost to Elder on Feb. 5, 2016. 5 years ago.

It was all Moeller with a 72 - 41 rout of Springfield.  Duncomb played 26 min. scoring 15 pts. on 3-3 FG; 9-12 FT; 9 reb; 7 asst; 1 stl; 3 TO.

Evan Mahaffey played 23 min. scoring 8 pts. on 4-8 FG; 0-1 FT; 6 reb; 4 asst; 1 stl; 5 TO.

Logan Duncomb is a turnover machine. 12 of them over his last three games.

Gonna need a lil’ bit of work there.

Moeller over LaSalle 59 - 38.  Duncomb played 27 min. scoring 8 pts. on 3-6 FG; 2-2 FT; 5 reb; 2 asst; 1 blk; 5 TO.  Turnovers have been a real issue for him this season.  I won't pay to watch his games so no idea just what kind of TOs he's committing.

Evan Mahaffey played 30 min. scoring 16 pts. on 8-8 FT; 5 reb; 1 asst.

Just 4 games left in Moeller's regular season.

I went back and looked at his last year's stats.  For the '19-20 season (27 games) he averaged 2.0 TO/game but had a number of games with as many as 6 or 7 offset by games with 0-2.   This season (16 games) his per game avg. is 2.5.

So in other words, it sounds like our only incoming recruit will be a project.

Man this class was such a failure.

Duncomb is young for his class and talented.

However, it’s a little deceptive to say that we will have a project/failure class:

1) We don’t know yet who will be in the class.

2) With Parker Stewart and potentially (likely?) at least one more transfer, this could be the most ‘game ready’ group IU will have added in a long while.

Must admit, your ability to spin negatives into positives is top-notch.

Now rather, if any of your projections turn true is a different matter all together.

I’ll tell you this, I’m more than ready for you to be right.

Positives? Hey... I’m the one giving game by game updates on Duncomb’s horrible turnover numbers!

If TJD leaves and we’re giving Duncomb major minutes as a freshman? We. Are. Screwed.

Because of this and because there will be no wait transfers next year, I think that having only one freshman and a few transfers is an intriguing concept.

To summarize: to be competitive next year we will need either TJD to come back or a truly high quality transfer big.
