Not trying to be contradictory or a smart aleck, I'm asking because I truly don't know: Was getting Wright actually an option? I know he de-committed from Dayton, but would he have followed Archie to B-town? Plus, not only were we out of scholarships, but we were one over (before Gelon  left). If memory serves, Durham, Smith and Moore all initially de-comitted after Crean was shown the door, but Archie got them to stay. Maybe he should've let one of them go?

Newkirk continues to make bad decisions at pivotal moments in big games.. Freshman mistakes. This team would be so much more formidable with a legitimate PG. Just give me someone who can make smart decisions. PLEASE! At this point Green may be the best of two evils. At least he's crafty.
ROJO was huge last night. He has been the only (somewhat) reliable scorer outside of Morgan.

Green bounced the ball off Morgan's foot at Illinois when we could of tied it. He's just as bad as newkirk

I remember that too.  Not sure it's worse than the posters that spelled Elston's name "Derrick" though, at least "Blackman" is only one letter off.

It also drives me crazy when people don't know the difference between words that sound alike. "Did I here this right?" was a thread title that comes to mind.

 

I also once had a PM from an angry Illinois fan back when we were "rivals" with Illinois repeatedly saying "Your a stupid inbread!"

You thought Newkirk was going to be good this year?  Why?  You also do not think Wright could have helped this team.  Anybody that watched last year knew Rob had leadership problems, and JN was just not a good basketball player.  You do not win at the college level without good guards.  That is not hindsight.

Nothing to do with Newkirk. He sucks. That post is about all these people saying we should have went after Wright whe5we had no room until Gelon left and his ranking wasn't much better than Durham. No one knew Wright would have been as good as he was in non conference. That's why it's hindsight
