Forgot about the grad transfer they took late. Quote
Popular Post IUc2016 Posted October 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2020 Here is a quote from Jerry Meyer of 247 answering a question regarding Aminu Mohammed and Trey Kaufman: What do you think the likelihood is that IU gets both Trey Kaufman and Aminu Mohammed? - Rob Lunder @rlunder18 Too early and too little concrete info to give a definitive answer to this question. Indiana is very much in the mix with both prospects and perhaps the leader at the moment, but that is as much as I can give you at this moment. My take is that both prospects are still working through their options and do not have their minds made up. Yes, I like Indiana’s chances with both of them, but that is as much as I can say. We are trying to make this a four player class. There’s room for this kid, Miller, or Hopkins which will still leave us a spot for Kaufman and Mohammed. MoyeNeeded 1 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Miller plays the same position as Kaufman. If things went bad with Kaufman then IU would focus all attention to the other top 60 PF they have already offered and are in really good shape with. Creighton and IU are in the best shape. I’m not convinced Miller and Kaufman will be playing for the same team I’ve always viewed Miller as a “backup” for Kaufman and not an ‘in addition’ recruit. So, in that case, new guy, would be a backup to the backup. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

From the staffs actions I don’t see Miller as a backup option but like you I just never thought those 2 or even Hopkins would be going to the same school. For me I don’t think them kicking the tires with a new name has anything to do with the Kaufman recruitment Quote
Stuhoo Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 It could very well be a backup plan. No matter how confident they may feel about Kaufman, knowing how the young man operates, much like Cody Zeller, the IU staff likely will not be officially informed until minutes before the announcement. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 RE: Mustapha Amzil. Had we extended an actual offer I'd be much more concerned. Demo Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 #1 ‘21 kid Chet Holmgren is currently playing on ESPN2. Fascinating watch. He’s 7’1”, long, insanely skilled across the board, can really run.But he’s built like a literal stick figure. Like, Manute Bol thin. And he just doesn’t look like a kid who’s gonna add a bunch of weight. I seriously question whether he can hold up physically to a high usage rate. But, man, is he talented.
