IU is never gonna get the refs on their side. The big 10 is more worried about protecting the ranked teams for the playoffs. They could give a rats a$$ if another team could challenge a ranked opponent!

Oh yeah Allen will be here at least 4 years. No way Fred is gonna cut the cord when he so willingly hired him without even doing a coaching search. He will be here a while. I hope things improve they can't get much worse based on what Allen took over.

Yeah I don’t think IU wins another game. Why didn’t Glass do an actual coaching search? That’s puzzling to say the least. But this is just a dumb football team. Good teams find ways to win football games and bad teams find ways to lose football games. IU is definitely in the latter. And there’s absolutely no excuse that IU can’t be a good football program. I just don’t understand it

Y'all who are upset about this program are more optimistic folks than I am. This thing beat me down years ago. Losing culture. Mediocre facility. A HC with no reputation and who wouldn't have gotten a sniff anywhere else. Weak local recruiting base. And an administration that talks the talk about building a winner, but doesn't walk it.

Why should we expect different? This is who we are. The only thing that changes it is luck. Either we luck into some under the radar kid who becomes Cam Newton, or we luck into a coach that works a miracle like Bill Snyder did at KSU.

Defense will easily take a step back. Only way it stays upright is if that high school QB is the real deal. Hate to put that on a kid but with everything we will lose next year on defense, we will need a game changer on offense and just not seeing it.

I know it probably didn't make much of a difference in the long run, but I still don't understand that replay that ruled we fumbled. For one, I'm not sure that the video proved enough to overturn the original call. For two, the official came running in, blowing his whistle and gesturing that the runner was down. Isn't anything that comes after that moot because the play was blown dead? If a runner is wrapped up by a defender, his progress is stopped and the official blows the whistle, that's it. If you hit the guy after that whistle, you're gonna get 15 yards added on. So why, when a play was blown dead, should anything that happens after the whistle matter? I've seen games with plays like that in which a ref, after a review, says, "The ball was fumbled, but the play was blown dead. So the ruling on the field is upheld." ... I just don't understand that call.

It's on the AD. Look what Minnesota, Maryland and Rutgers are did recently. They went out and hired coaches with good resumes and they are all showing improvement already. Is it too early to really judge them all and TA? Of course. But they at least went out and made a commitment. This program chose the cheaper/easy option.

I know players love being coddled nowadays... but these guys need some harsh reality to hit them. Coaches need to start being legit. I feel this coaching staff is even softer than the last. What is more important? Being coddled and having coaches be nice and make you feel the like you're great or winning? I think basketball had the same problem with Crean and there was never a "breakthough." I dobut Nick Saban is kissing his players asps everyday when they screw up.

Wasn't the last coach canned because he mistreated players? I wouldn't call that kissing asps.

Literally the same thing happened to us about 10 years ago in a game at Purdue, and at the time I'm not even sure that kind of play was reviewable. It doesn't have to make sense if we're on the receiving end of it.

IU doesn’t deserve to get 50-50 calls in their favor. Wouldn’t make a difference in the first place

It is old watching us start off good and let it slip or being in games only to come up short every time is a bit annoying.

It doesn't matter in the long run but I thought the rule was as you stated. There were plenty of other miscalls. I started going back and watching them. Scales was pulled back by his shoulder pad while rushing the QB. It was a full arm length pull that wasn't called. Dutra had an obvious one too.

IU won't get the respect of the refs until they earn it. Glad to see CTA flipping out on the sideline though.
