You could literally make this argument about any program before they experienced success.

The only other program who would really fit is Uconn,

I debated including Florida, but Butler and Gonzaga, I personally don't think so. Good? Yes! Blueblood-ish? No.

Gotcha, I must not have read it all if the word Blueblood was thrown around. I was getting ready to add Zona but I don't think they are there yet.

Maybe it wasn't and that would be my fault for mentally using that criteria when I read the post.

When I think of our last title, bluebloods were Indiana, UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas and UNC. At that time Duke was wishing they were us, with our 5 banners. And only Duke and Uconn have had a 30 year stretch that nears the pack. IMO.

My father has told me that I have to pick which one to root for to me this is like a girl picking between her boyfriend and her ex boyfriend.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like a choice is already made between boyfriend and EX boyfriend....

Yes you would be correct on that choice but I also  support Indiana schools such as IU and Butler.

I may be a (filter es no bueno) as I start getting older, but I have never understood how you can like multiple teams. Maybe if you go to one school for undergraduate and a different one for grad school? Even then I did that and I couldn't imagine any interest in other schools.

Being a college basketball fanatic I have interest in most of the college basketball teams that play. But I'm a different breed of fan that watches 3 tvs of basketball games every day of the college basketball season. I know what u are saying though. IU is my team. Even in 2001 while was attending Indiana st and ISU was playing Indiana at the Hulman Center I was in the student section with my candystripes. Menser for 3 still hurts. To this day my old fraternity brothers still don't let me forget about me cheering for the Hoosiers in the ISU student section. As much as I love my IU basketball, I love college basketball as a whole just as much.

I love college basketball too but I root for underdogs and IU. That's it. It all falls back into my prism of IU though but I'll watch a PAC12 game over most other crap on TV.

But my rooting interest (I think the alumnus part adds another layer of connection) is Indiana. I couldn't imagine ever switching to another team no matter how terrible IU was or what was happening with them.

I have 2 degrees from IU but both daughters and a son-in-law are Butler grads so without a doubt Butler is my second favorite school.  But make no mistake, if the 2 face each other in an athletic event, I'm wearing red.

An IU game is the only one I really care about an outcome of a game. In all the other games I watch I just want a see great games and finishes. As long as  college basketball is on I will find it and watch. As most of you know by now in the college basketball thread I will post in there on a Friday night andupdate a MAAC or horizon league conference game. Some of the best games I saw last year were games I watched on nbcsports network on random Wednesday. One of my friends asked me once a very hard question for me to answer. He said I had to pick one. He gave me a choice of watching IU basketball and I couldn't watch any other college basketball games or I could watch all of college basketball except IU. Always hated these made up questions but this would be a tough one for me so I'm glad I wouldn't have to choose between the 2.

I too love the game. Between HS and college I watch at least 300 games a yr. If I'm at a HS game, I record a couple of college games and watch when I get home.
