WayneFleekHoosier Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I think he is seeing all his friends going and thinking he belongs as well. I can see why this is tough for him. I have to think he is also getting info that tells him where he stands. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote

HoosierAloha Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Maybe he was going through the process and getting the best info possible before sitting down to make a decision? It takes some longer than others. Glad he's back. Class of '66 Old Fart, VO5, MemphisHoosier and 3 others 6 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Definitely glad he's back. Newkirk/GreenRojo/CuJo/Durham/GelonHartman/SmithMorgan/McSwainDD/Moore/PrillerWould be my starting 5. (Assuming Hartman can get healthy)Our starting 5 looks pretty decent on paper. Moore and Smith will need to contribute. Decent guard depth with Green and CuJo. I can see Green getting nearly as many minutes as Newkirk/Rojo.Might need this lineup for a lot of the game.NewkirkGreenRojoMorgan Davis Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners HoosierAloha, IUsafety and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I like the starting 5 but switch Newkirk for Green. I want Green to start and distribute to Davis, Johnson, and Morgan (in that order). I like Newkirk off the bench to be more of a scoring threat. WayneFleekHoosier and Str8Hoosiers 2 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBannersProbably true but I'd like to give Green the keys because I think he's a better playmaker and it would give Green a year of OJT. We should be solid in the backcourt and lacking depth upfront. I could see us going three guards to start. There's 120 minutes needed up front with Davis, Morgan, and Hartman getting the bulk of those minutes. We'll need about 40 combined minutes from Smith, McSwain, Moore, a third guard and possibly Priller. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners I agree Newkirk is a starter at the start of the season but not convinced he'll be a starter at the end of the season. He'll still get minutes but I think he'll be edged out of his starting spot by Green. I'm expecting a significant jump in Green's level of performance under CAM's tutelage. schoosier Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Hopefully, minutes will be divided amongst those that buy in to defense and team basketball. That will be a huge head start from what we have seen for a decade. HoosierAloha, Class of '66 Old Fart and Stuhoo 3 Quote

bhaggard89 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I think defense is going to be a big factor behind who starts. I wouldn't be opposed to a Newkirk, Green, Rojo, Morgan, Hartman lineup every once in a while. We can assume Moore won't be playing the 5. He may not have the most talent of any guy on the team, but he worked his butt off when he got a chance. I really like that sort of player. Quote
