Clifton Moore and Smith were the two recruits I DIDNT want to lose. Now that Moore is gone IDC how long we wait to name a coach. You dont rush it just for one kid specially one ranked in the 80s some services have him in the 100s. If TB, OG or JBJ stay because of a new coach that has more effect than Smith so it is actually a plus. If they all decide to leave that was what we assumed to happen anyways so then the new coach has 1-3 spots to fill. With the idea of any of those 3 coming back or Smith still coming we will be fine.

BD's contract with OKC is $30M for 5 years. Let's assume each year is $6M. Donovan has been in OKC for two years. You're asking a booster to come up with $18M? Not happening...

I can't tell people how badly I want this to be true.  I so badly want IU to finally say enough is enough, for IU to decide to be one of their big boys and sit at the same table as pUKe and UNC and Duke again, to decide they should be a shark instead of a friggin' guppy.

I can't believe it though.  For as long as I've paid attention it seems like IU has been content with being a guppy.  If I believe this it'll make me irate when they hire someone like Alford or Chris Collins.

We'll see how it plays out, but I so so so badly wish I could believe this.

Yeah, despite all the insiders and unnamed sources talking up Billy Donovan to IU, I'm preparing myself to be disappointed.  Although I felt the same way about if Glass would actually fire Crean...so there's that.

Some boosters that's chump change.

Maybe, but it would be completely unnecessary. That's not how these things work.

Funny thing. I was just googling "Billy Donovan scandal". Didn't find anything. He is squeaky clean. Did find some interesting things though. Hiring Donovan would rock the world of college basketball.

In 2013-14, he was ESPN top ranked coached in college basketball. Ahead of the likes of Calipari, Izzo, Krzyzewski and Pitino.

An article, from July of 2016, talking about the Kevin Durant departure and what that means to Donovan. Says that there is a possibility of him leaving as early as this year.

Title says it all, Indiana Must Fire Tom Crean and Pursue Billy Donovan.

There is just too much information that keeps coming up from all over the place. The common theme is Billy Donovan. At the very least, I would think there are some serious talks going on with him. Bennett's name had been floated early and now it seems to have faded away. No other coach is being mentioned besides Alford, and that is primarily due to the media.
