Not even close to the way they do UK, Duke, UNC hooker U and Kansas.

Interesting then that jerry Meyer has a Facebook live Q and A on Indiana recruiting all the time because he knows the fan base is there and he takes advantage of it. ( the only other teams he does that for are Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky.

Then why did you say you cared what the basketball community says?

People need to accept if our fanbase is the only one calling us a blue blood. It's more likely our fanbase is delusional than everybody else is wrong.

As soon as you accept mediocrity you stop being a blue blood. We accepted mediocrity about 20 years ago.

Sounds to me like you are too worried about what other fan bases view IU instead of what coaches, scouts, and other people in the business view IU

When I said basketball community I meant the people that actually matter like other head coaches, assistant coaches, AD, media. Sorry for the confusion. I don't really care that orange crazy person Illinois fan on Illinois loyality doesn't view iu's program as a blue blood

Judging by our inability to lure a better candidate than our last 3 head coaches going to have to say that unless you have evidence the coaching community views us as a top 6 job I am going to say you are wrong.

And when it comes to media pundits it fits their narrative and is mostly a select few.

And it's not one fan it's the majority of every fanbases. Millions upon million of basketball fans say nay.

Look at our last 3 coaching staffs sorry that does not seem to indicate being a blue blood.

No data just getting mocked my entire life when I have referred to IU as a blue blood outside of Bloomington. Any proof coaches view us as elite?

Kansas bill self this year when talking about these 2 blue blood programs playing more often and it would benefit both programs. He never mentioned elite just blue blood. Kansas City star article

So one coach that was trying to get us to play him again cause he figured more often than not it would be an easy win.

If we were so desirable we wouldn't have gotten stuck with Crean

I was only a little kid when Davis was hired so I don't know the circumstances behind that one (why he was picked, who else was being considered, etc.) but Sampson is a good coach. He's dirty, but as an actual coach he's much better than Crean. Then of course it was going to be hard to lure a top guy here to deal with the mess that Sampson left. I don't think hiring an elite coach was IU's #1 priority at that point.

Elite and being a blue blood are different things

I think this is where the mix up is coming from. Blue blood is more of a who's who in the history of college basketball while elite is the top programs today. You can be a blue blood and elite (IU is not), elite (IU is not), or a blue blood (IU is).

You don't have the third most titles, top 10 all time wins, tied for the most B1G titles, multiple NPOY, a slew of AA, multiple HOF coaches, a massive fan base, a ton of money poured into the program, top notch facilities, etc if you're not a blueboood. It's really that simple.

Being a blue blood is not accepting mediocrity for 30 years.

I have never seen a NC for IU and I'm about to have a daughter. We are literally a generation away from a NC. You aren't a blue blood if the older generation can't tell the younger generation what being relevant and winning an NC is like.

You only asked for one? Jon calipari presser after losing to IU in round if 32, Roy Williams presser after destroying IU, Chris Collins pregame talk last year taking about hoping to get northwestern program like Indiana. Calling it a blue blood and the class of the B1G. If u want more just watch more press conferences. I'm sure they are all lying and message board fans of other fan bases hold more weight. Lol
