This one game does not provide a "projection" for how we will do in the NCAA. So dumb lol.

His long is a long way? Final Four. This team has it all when healthy. Leaving Blackmon and Morgan out, take Rob off this team and we finish in 6-8th place in the B1G. His absence matters...... Much much much much more than any decision our coaches made today

how seamlessly is Rob going to transition back into the game. No warm up time for him to get his feet wet. Players unaccustomed to having him. Biggest game of the year, he returns, likely not 100% and players needing to regain mojo. Gotta love that thought.

Yes, you do have to play them at some point.  The point is the path to a Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four, or title not just having to play them.  There is a reason why history of seeding and how far they make it exists.  It's just not some made up statistic that "doesn't matter."

How about a body of work going back 17 years showing that Tom Crean has won more than 2 consecutive postseason games exactly once. Thats 27 different chances.  He lost the first game more often than he won a single game.

depends. Do we sneak by Michigan and get throttled by Purdue? If so, sure. Crean's tourney record presumes a -1 round prediction. Izzo tourney record presumes a +1 or 2 round.

So yes, we would of been a trendy upset special regardless unless we finished BTT on a roll.

So the fact we would have lost to our main rival means losing to a bubble team is OK.

3s will play 2s. 4-5s will play 1s. The 1s are better than the 2s this year and most every year. Assuming we actually make it that far.

im just talking about the first 2 games. you eventually are going to have to play those good teams in the sweet 16 or the elite 8. I guess I don't put much stock into elite 8 appearances for me a loss in the sweet 16 is the same as it would be in the elite 8. but its been 22 years since i have experienced an elite 8 loss so what the hell do I know

There's good reason to believe in Tom Crean. He is a good coach, not a great one yet because that isn't achieved without national titles right? Or is that just what we tell ourselves.

Maybe this just isn't a great program in today's day and age and we are all really fools for expecting so much. Here we are, almost 20 years from the firing. Who'd have thought we'd still be cursed
