Matt Weaver mentioned on a podcast last week that we should expect 20-25 incoming transfers over the next 3 months.  By group, he was vocal that DE, DT, Safety, OL, WR, and QB will be positions of priority.  

Additionally, he mentioned the staff feels good on a few '25 flips - but didn't discuss anyone by name.

This season may help land some good transfers, gives a good "look what we can do". Couple it with a good boost in NIL and we could really start building something.

Seems like RB, DT, and WR are the three position groups that are graduating the most.

I wonder if Maddix Blackwell moves back to Bloomington as a one-year depth/ST piece back there. Kid was a stud at ISU, just entered the portal yesterday.

I don't think that's out of the question, at all. Honeslty that's a good find. Whatcha wanna bet that kid will pick up well on a game plan?

I sure wouldn't bet against it. I've watched a fair amount of ISU football and the dude is everywhere. I want to say he's led them in tackles at least once, and they're usually decent on defense.

Edit: 197 tackles the last two years, 3 picks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 recovered.

It's never a good sign when your free safety is your leading tackler. Kid probably has some PTSD from playing in that ISU defense.

Yep, he was everywhere and kind of played everywhere. They'd play him free, in the box, in the slot. Just a really damn good football player. The type of guy that Cig loves to bring in. But he may be looking for somewhere where he's going to be the guy. Who knows.

I did notice that his major at ISU is Intelligence Analysis and that has Luddy School written all over it.

Was named team captain of basketball team in 2020-21.... 

They were 25-5 and took LN to the brink in the semi-state. Team played all year without Connor Hickman, too.

Following up here, one name that has risen as a prime '25 flip target is 3*/4* (depending on the service) QB Robert McDaniel, from California, who is currently committed to Arizona with a previous decommitment from Cal.  Solid list of Power 4 offers and he showed well at the Elite 11 camp.

I will defer to the QB experts on the tape and analysis, but I consistently see a strong arm coupled with a quick release.

Last QB that was committed to AZ and flipped to IU worked out pretty well!!! (Sudfeld)

Not sure where to drop this, but Donaven McCulley will be visiting Michigan this weekend for the Big Game.  Given UM's lack of WR depth I wouldn't be surprised to see him commit.

Unless the schedule changes for '25 (which knowing the B1G, it probably will) we dont have UM or OSU next year., but will have the joy of visiting Eugene, State College, and Iowa City.
