  1. Past hour
  2. Women take a tough 8-7 loss to Louisville in 10 innings. Tied at 5 apiece after 9 innings. We scored 2 in our 10th but the Cardinals scored 3 for the win. 4 Hoosier pitchers gave up 11 hits and 6 BB. We had 12 hits with VanBrandt and Haberstroh each with 3. Bird had 3 RBI. This weekend we're on the road at Iowa (22-20) (5-10) and just 4-9 in Iowa City. All 3 games televised on B1G+. Fri - 7:00 ET Sat - 2:00 ET Sun - 1:00 ET Preview Live Stats
  3. Backup 5 is a must to me. Backup PG with Burton's injury history, for sure. And then save last for Miika Muurinen. Oh come on let me dream it's still early today!
  4. Absolutely need a back up big who can play the 5. Doesn't have to be a stud but a competent player who can give you 15mpg or so if need be. Maybe a senior that doesn't project to get an NBA pay day. I know Lindsay is a combo guard that can slide to PG if Burton comes out, but I still think a back up pure point would be good to add to this group. Then I would probably leave the last scholarship open and see what happens. It would be cool to add a 3/4 that can rebound, shoot and defend the perimeter... but that's probably a lot to ask for with the last spot on the roster
  5. Evansville scored 3 in the 9th but our Hoosiers hung on for an 8-6 win. Linn started and pitched 5 innings of scoreless 1-hit ball. 5 more pitchers gave up 5 more hits and 7 BB over the final 4 innings. We had 9 hits. 3 players with 2 hits each and 3 players with 2 RBI each. Hopefully we can extend our 2-game winning streak in Bloomington this weekend hosting Abilene Christian (18-18). All 3 games televised on B1G+. Fri - 6:00 Sat - 2:00 Sun - Noon Radio Live Stats
  6. Depends on how "advanced" you want to go but CBB Reference shows things like BPM or WinShares: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/
  7. Christian Reeves please! I could also possibly see Josh Harris coming back..
  8. This interview reminds me of a Dave Chapelle skit. "My name is Kira K. Dixon." Yes; of course it is.
  9. Don't tell them until we have everyone we want. LOL
  10. I would love to see one more post player get added that could come off the bench and improve as the season advances. The new GM sure has proved his chops; let’s hope DD has made improvements coaching.
  11. Anybody have access to advanced player metrics that would be willing to share? Curious to see the individual defensive efficiency type metrics on the signees. Pretty obvious most have been productive offensively at the P4 level. Can they keep guys out of the paint? Can they rim protect? Any defensive numbers out there?
  12. Today
  13. Man, what an evening. I stepped away to go to a little league game and get a notice on my phone about another commitment. Staff is moving fast and building a solid team. Didn't think I would get this excited about Bball again. If it translates to floor, we are in for a treat.
  14. Backup big is also top priority for me, by a long shot. Because we are one injury away, Yigitoglu or Sherrell, from being undersized in conference play (yet again).
  15. Another weakness fixed: We've got so much eligibility left in this roster. If we scouted these guys right and they work out, we'll be much less busy in the portal next year. And of course it's cheaper to retain talent.
  16. Next season, having THREE starters (Burton, Lindsay, Mustaf) who can both knock down threes AND create off the dribble paired with two rim protectors who excel at crashing the offensive glass is HUGE. Talk about turning last year's weaknesses into next year's strengths...
  17. Like Burton, Lindsay has a very quick first step. That said, it appears he struggled to make shots inside the 3-point line last year. The guys at @sleepers said he shot 39% on "off the dribble" 3s which is extremely impressive.
  18. Thanks for the invite the one event of the sports season I've always wanted to go to.
  19. This is where I stand. Also the 4/5 is strong at the starter spots but besides, Sisley at the 4 we don’t have a backup for that spot. Manhertz(sp?). I think we need another good 4/5. Especially in case of an injury. And we have lots of potential at the 2/3. Most of our roster. Mustaf will play a lot. The better of Lindsay/Harris will play a lot.
  20. I think we have plenty of wings between who we picked up in the portal, Sisley, and the freshmen. A backup C is what I’d like to see. Even if it’s a developmental guy used for practice. I don’t see us going more than 8-9 deep at most and I think one of the freshmen will contribute, likely Moody.
  21. I had to unfollow him after this. Besides Dorn is not coming back and Enright has no eligibility, before he disappeared he was bemoaning who we were going after saying we're going to end up with "scraps" again, as if we had no money. Wrong on both. Then he reappears after all the action to post what multiple people have already said or odd takes like this.. He's mildly entertaining but hasn't really provide much unique info. Seems to be friendly with Tyme who I think gives him some "scraps" every now and then to stir up some dust.
  22. I think he just says things to be abrasive but whether he means it or not, Dorn should not be anywhere near this team. He’s a good guy and I wish him well but he’s not a very good basketball player. He was an extremely streaky shooter who caught a two week heater and had some big scoring games because of it. They can find a capable shooter who can also play competent defense, rebound, and dribble, which are three things I’m not confident dorn can do (at least at the requisite level to succeed in the big ten)
