If a probability thread is gonna be up every week, I'll post bowl projections here. Most sites have us going to Detroit to play the likes of UVA(again), Wake, Ohio, or Cincinnati. Bowl Cut(how apropos) has us going to something called the First Responders Bowl in Dallas to play Akron.

S&P+ rating are a rating system for college football that looks at data from every play and adjust them based on the opponents. It's basically Ken Pomeroy but for college football. This is directly from football outsiders: "The components for S&P+ reflect opponent-adjusted components of four of what Bill Connelly has deemed the Five Factors of college football: efficiency, explosiveness, field position, and finishing drives. (A fifth factor, turnovers, is informed marginally by sack rates, the only quality-based statistic that has a consistent relationship with turnover margins.)" This is their site in case anyone wants to read more on it: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaa

The opposite would also be true. Rutgers is due for a big game and IU teams of the past generally bow down to inferior opponents. However, as I will be on hand for the game, I pray this doesn't occur.

I thought it might be interesting to track how the computers see the team as the season goes along. Right now S&P+ thinks we have about an 80% chance to go bowling, and could end up having a really nice year overall with a few lucky bounces. It's looking more and more like the plan is to redshirt Penix, which I agree with, but I think we still need to give Ramsey more intermediate passing routes to target to really unlock the offense. Our defense, a question mark coming into the year, is currently ranked in the top 20 but our offense is outside of the top 75. I think we have talent on that side of the ball we just need to press a bit more than we do right now. Hopefully Rutgers sees us get ahead by a few scores and experiment a bit in a game setting

A little humor to start a Tuesday. Getting to the point a Pee Wee flag football league is more entertaining.

Last winter on the Mind Your Banners podcast, Snow told Osterman that the staff thought Hunter could play the 2 but Snow thought that was a long shot. I can see both sides: his size and skill makes him a tantalizing prospect there, but the speed, defense, and ball-handling may be challenges.

Disagreeing from him means you have a narrative, however his opinion is a fact, not a narrative. Lol, the hypocrisy runs thick with this one.

Right, and it's interesting to note as your other post mentioned turnovers aren't really accounted for in this model because they're pretty much random. If we can take care of the ball, we can eclipse this record. Or we could get lucky with opponent's fumbles bouncing our way, or happening at all. That could go the other way too and it's a huge factor to winning and losing games. All that having been said this team does have talent on both sides of the ball and with bolder playcalling offensively I think we can turn the corner but I'm starting to join the chorus on Debord. Ramsey can handle a bit more than what he's being given right now, even stretching the defense another 5 or 10 yards would be huge.

Don’t get me started on that. I can’t stand it when people arrive late to real games. I can’t see the game when they start to pile up

Just read that Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill will both be able to attend the WNIT ceremony. Buss will be leaving for her professional career in Greece, while Cahill is teaching in Bloomington!

Personally, I dont really give a [emoji90] what happens at HH. Everything the team does is either for recruiting, fans, or both, so please at least one of those groups and it’s a win. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

It's also a chance to gain exposure for our women's team. The raising of the WNIT banner is significant to our program. It's a chance to help build another important facet of our athletics.

I’m ready for the season to start and as excited about any season since 2011-12. Archie has his recruits, and his players have a year under his coaching. I’m expecting big results and some beat downs like we haven’t seen in a long time.

With the Asst Coach of Wake in a little hot water from the assult in NYC, might make that destination a little less desirable.

Love or hate Snow but he is well connected with Archie and his staff. On his weekly reports he has written about kids not on radar and to watch closely and expect an offer soon and each time he has been right. The plan might be for hunter to develop into a 2 but who knows if that will actually end up happening. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
