Bobman1 Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 I'm afraid he's gone for the year My gosh that's horrifying! Get well soon Schwarb. We really need that depth now, La Stella playing 3rd and Bryant in left. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 DAMN it. My heart sinks for him. Nobody deserves injuries like this. Especially not our beloved Schwarber. I'm ticked! Get well Schwarber. This sucks... Hoosiers219 and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

This sucks... As he was on the cart, you could see massive turf burns on his right arm I believe and he payed no attention whatsoever to them. Shows the type of toughness this guy has. Dalton26 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Confirmed it was just a left ankle sprain. Napleshoosier, ccgeneral and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 That looked much worse than an ankle sprain. Hopefully that's all it was. ccgeneral, mdn82, Class of '66 Old Fart and 2 others 5 Quote

Naturalhoosier Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 UH OH! Sources tell ESPN's Buster Olney that there's a lot of concern within the organization that Kyle Schwarber's injury is serious, and there is a lot more concern over his knee than the ankle. Schwarber is scheduled for an MRI in a couple of hours. Quote

Dalton26 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Hopefully there is no torn ligaments in his knee. Quote
pappy1865 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 It's gotta be something serious. The MRI was hours ago and nothing has come out yet. Cubs have depth, but his bat will be missed if it's a lengthy recovery time. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Not good news at all. Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiCubs 44s44 seconds ago Schwarber has a full torn ACL and LCL Quote

Naturalhoosier Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 OH SNAP! too soon? Seriously, htat really really sucks. I hate the Cubs but I love me some Schwarbs. :( :( :( Quote
LockdownD Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I hate this for Schwarber. Was looking forward to see what he could do with a full season. I was under the impression he would be catching Hammel to get some time behind the plate in addition to outfield. Very disappointed. Get well soon! Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
pappy1865 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Well, next man up. Losing his stick will suck, but, they've got more than enough catchers and outfielders to fill the spot. Quote
