Caught the Duke wake forest game this morning from this past weekend. Duke is definitely not the same team they were last year. Especially with this QB filling in for their veteran. Wake had a true freshman RB come in and I mean he's big, but nothing special. Hinton (true frosh we played last yr) is not impressive at all..... Still.... Threw INT.... Was named starter over the QB he filled in for when he started last year. Can run but passing offense seems non-existent. Plays Delaware this weekend. Threw maybe 15 times. Idk I haven't looked at stats. Defense brought the heat early and often the backed off into zone in second half. I'm not scared about the wake game. Let's go. Is it the 24th yet?!?!? Give me some Hoosier football.

Oh in today's football news. 2nd string QB at Oklahoma was interviewed and said OSUs defense was basic.... Bold move cotton. He may have just ordered the DLine hit squad on baker mayfield. Like straight up sent him to his grave.

We are going to annihilate Wake. We shouldn't need to do anything fancy on offense except run the ball. Our offensive line will be too physical for them. I like this matchup a lot more than the BSU one last week.

Speaking of the ACC, has anyone seen home opener attendance numbers?

Wake's home opener: just over 24K
Duke's home opener: 35K opening weekend which is good, but then only 21K against Wake which is pathetic considering how close the two schools are.

Box score from last week was around 41500

We drew just over 44K hosting MSU in 2014. Granted we were 2-3, but it was a 3:30 ESPN game.

Given a win against Wake next week, over/under 44K for MSU? I believe the MSU game is a night game.

Going into MSU 3-0 and that being a night game, I think you'll see more of an OSU crowd from last year. Not quite that level, but a big, excited crowd. I'll take the over.

Edit: And yes, it is 8:30 on BTN I believe.

I'm saying way over. Night game. I feel Wilson and glass will do some promo and get students there and not out on Kirkwood. MSU travels pretty well too. I'm gonna say close to 48k rowdy fans and it won't be 50/50 like OSU used to be. I think Hoosier fans show up and get rowdy. I think ball state would have had a higher attendance if the forecast wasn't rain all week and then Friday night changed. But I loved how full the student section was during the first half. Very disappointed with second half (yes we were up 30 but still).

A night game in Btown and people think the students will stay...? It could be an awesome game with the score tied at half and the students will be out at halftime.

The reality is, we're a basketball school where students just don't really care that much about football. We'll need to win more consistently for attendance to ever change. Beating an MSU, OSU, or UM could do wonders for us attendance wise, but until that happens and we go to bowls regularly I don't think you'll see much of a change with students.

Truth, I went to almost every game and encouraged others to stay. It sucked because we sucked. It will take years (!) of success to get a stronger student following that cares about the game enough to stay. That's bowl games, being ranked, and beating an opponent or two we shouldn't each year.

Students stayed for the OSU game if I remember correctly. I remember the ABC broadcast was impressed with our atmosphere in the second half.

I think as Lucel said the MSU game has huge potential. If we are 3-0, that night game will be rocking. And if we play them close I think we'll see a consistent crowd. And if by small chance we win, there will be a huge party on Kirkwood!

Kendall Hinton suffered a non-contact injury with 4 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter of the Wake Forest football team’s contest against the Delaware Blue Hens. He went to take off on a run, and then immediately stopped, and went to the ground. He was able to walk off the field with some assistance, but he was moving very gingerly. He was sitting on the sideline for some time, but went to the locker room midway through the 2nd quarter. He is out for the remainder of the first half and will be reevaluated at halftime.

Hinton was named Wake Forest’s new starting quarterback earlier this week, and was having a good game. He completed 2 of 4 passes for 24 yards, and carried the ball 9 times for 38 yards and a touchdown.

We will continue to update this article as soon as we hear any news regarding Kendall Hinton’s health status.

I honestly am glad MSU is playing well. Shows that Texas was no fluke. ND is not what they are hyped to be (weird...again?!) I want MSU coming into btown thinking they will whoop us. I hope we can destroy wake and hide the playbook for another week. I won't be able to attend MSU game. I'll be on vacation in Seattle. But know I've found a bar to be cheering from out there.
