If they lose out, maybe he gets canned but even then maybe not. Between Kelly and Weiss they are losing a lot of money, but the stands are still full and the NBC contract is in hand so I'm not sure it matters. Their boards are an interesting mix about how admin doesn't care as long as people still fork over the money, admin is ok with mediocrity all the way to Kelly is ........ useless, doesn't know anything, has to go now and is destroying a national brand and notre dame itself. It's quite the implosion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

One of the greatest drop offs ever to not involve sanctions. hsrtxp 1 Quote

Weis came off the books last January, just in time for Kelly's extension. At one time they were paying Willingham, Weis, and Kelly. As hsrtxp said above, the NBC contract will always be there and the stands are full. I hate them more than anything and it sucks to have to live at damn near ground zero, but they have verrrry deep pockets. The amount of construction that has taken place on that campus in the last 10-15 years is mind boggling. They wouldn't blink at paying Kelly to walk away. Quote

TheWatShot Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 The call came so late I thought the hit was going to be on the following play. This is what I hate about football. Way too many new rules trying to protect players and way too many interpretations. There's less than a minute to go in a game that's already decided, and you make everybody sit around and wait while you determine if a defender led with his helmet or not. Quote
hsrtxp Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Yeah and now he's out for the first half of the next game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersYes lowered a little, but form tackling is "bite the ball" aka take your helmet/face mask to ball. There was no bad intentions. Like some of this hits I saw in bigger games this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Bobman1 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Some big CFB coaching options could open up this summer now that I think about it. Possibly Texas, Oregon, LSU, Notre Dame. Could be a very interesting offseason in the CFB world.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Never Daunted 1 Quote
