Purdue qb Card is 0-3 with no tds to his own receivers, one completion for a td on an Oregon St pick six. 7-0 Or St.

Good lord I am going to enjoy us stomping the ugly out of Purdud this year.

And Cig is just the coach to keep running up the score when we’re up 50.

Meanwhile, Jeff Brohm is 13-4 since he got to Louisville and has them ranked #19.

Looks like Brady Allen made the right choice.

Is it too early to think Cignetti for us could be what Brohm was for Purdue?

Probably yah too early. He is turning me into a believer. I know our schedule has been soft, but what we have done so far is exactly what we weren't doing under Allen w/o DeBoer and Wommack

They’ve effectively killed the basketball version of Mountain West after dark. Me and USPS are in mourning. I hope the Pac-12 honchos have learned their lesson and make the Pac-12 network a little more accessible.

Brutal news for 3-0 UNLV, and their chances of recruiting moving forward.  We should all be grateful for our healthy NIL

This is where NIL becomes a joke. Why schools shouldn't make promises unless they have solid collectives. But at the same time, it's incredibly weak to quit on your teammates. Kid could definitely continue playing while hashing things out instead of acting like an NFL player. If there is something in writing, play it out and use. If not, you have no base to stand on. Both sides look bad in this.

Agree it’s a bad look all the way around. ND has a 3rd or 4th string CB who is also hitting the portal after 4 games to hopefully start next year elsewhere while preserving a year of eligibility, so I think we are going to see a lot more “business decisions” like that get made. I fault the schools more than the players because while it’s true quitting on your team sucks, most of these kids won’t ever be NFL players and as violent of a sport as football is, they need to make sure they’re getting paid while they’re playing. If a school misleads a kid about the financial opportunity there and that kid doesn’t have a clear path to the pros, hard to blame them for preserving their eligibility so they can get paid for the very limited time they have the opportunity. Regardless of the logic behind it, college sports as a product is worse off IMO in the current landscape.

Since it's not within the transfer window, wouldn't those players have to sit out next year without a waiver? I thought that was implemented to prevent this.

Idk if that's even how it works anymore, since it changes so often. The way I'm reading it, he's sitting out the season to protect the redshirt and will enter the portal when it opens (and it appears he'll exit the portal soon after).

Ah, so he's just announcing his intention to transfer and isn't actually entering the portal now.

Yeah I believe so. The only positive here is that this situation is so dumb, it may be enough to create some sort of positive change toward a structure where the players get paid, but can't hold the programs hostage on a whim. Props to Barry Odom for not playing ball too.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing for Odom's career in the grand scheme of things. Especially, if the kid goes public, which he will. The PR surrounding UNLV and Odom's staff would easily be worth a $100K payment. Big picture stuff here.

Assuming the kid hasn't seen a dime he was promised, who in their right mind stays at a job not getting paid?

Depends who you believe. Sluka said he didn't get what was promised. Others saying there was tampering and he went to Odom wanting a match. That reporting also said that Odom simply couldn't match it, not necessarily that he wouldn't. I tend to side with the programs, but I doubt we ever get the full truth.

Of course. I was making an assumption. This will all play out and there are probably receipts.
