How many years now has college football been the Bama/Georgia/SEC show? They (with schools like Clemson/OSU,LSU sprinkled in) have dominated the landscape. Not saying that Colorado is a title contender or anything, but Deion and Colorado are something new and exciting. I like it, personally. People also need to understand just how BAD Colorado was last season. Sure they were 1-11. That's really bad. But it wasn't a "competitive" 1-11. They beat Cali 20-13. Outside of that, they allowed 38+ points in every single game. E8 was actually the lowest they held a team and everything else was 41+. Here's their losses... 13-38 10-41 7-49 17-45 20-43 Beat Cali 9-42 34-42 10-49 17-55 7-54 21-63 They averaged 15ppg in losses and gave up 47.4. The team was that freaking bad. Now he has won 3 games already. He's already a success at this point, even if they lose out. Personally, I love it. Something to mix it up. Something that is unique in the game. A guy just being who he is and the kids clearly love it. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned Colorado into a Top 10 program. I think he absolutely keeps them top 15-20 without any trouble. Quote

Safety had zero intentions going for the ball and every intention in either breaking up the catch or just flat out putting down the hammer. I know the mindset, I played the position. Since it was a rivalry game, putting down the hammer was probably #11's first and only option. LOL! His pursuit wasn't anything out of the ordinary and the hit was actually well timed, especially if #12 catches it. #2 overthrew the ball which makes the hit look like a cheap shot. Personally, I blame #2 for that hit and I find it kind of ironic that he ran down the field to start poop with the safety because it was his own mistake that caused the hit. Had this been any other game other than the current hype we aren't talking about it. Hardwood83 and rcbowla 2 Quote

But, thoughts on the absolute dirty hit by CSU's Henry Blackburn on Colorado's Travis Hunter? Changed the game. Also. My Trees are bad. Just. Bad. Sent from my SM-G986U using BtownBanners mobile app Personally, I don't think it was dirty. Had #2 placed the ball in the basket we aren't talking about it. The pursuit was well timed, especially if #12 doesn't slow up. Most importantly, #12 was covered like a blanket and trying to throw into that coverage is ballsy. It didn't work and letting up on the play got him injured. Quote

I think the CSU kid is suffering heavily from slow motion instant replay. Bang-bang play, he didn’t go high or low, it was a little late, but is he supposed to just stop on a dime? They were heading to the same place. If that happened in an Arizona State game no one would give a s**t, but it just happened to be the most watched CFB game of the year with the most polarizing team I’ve seen in a while. Wasn't anywhere near a bang bang play. In any sense of the meaning. That was deliberate. CSU player knew exactly what he was trying to do. Quote

This wasn't "well timed" or "suffering from slow motion instant replay." The ball had hit the ground already before the CSU player ever even started to lunge at Hunter. It was dirty. Very dirty and he should be suspended. Quote

Was the ball overthrown and did #12 slow up due to the ball being overthrown? Is the safety pursuing where the ball is going? After looking at this over and over, it's incredibly maddening that the QB even threw the ball in that direction. He's lucky the ball wasn't picked. All of this falls directly in the hands of the QB. Completely his fault from start to finish. Which resulted in injuring one of his most important players on the team. Also had the ball been placed in the basket, the safety might of not even gotten a hit on him. Because he looks like he might of been a tad bit late on the catch, if that even would have happened. But he was covered like a blanket so the catch probably doesn't happen, especially with the safety rolling in for help. Could the safety let up and try to avoid the hit? Probably. Hence the flag thrown. But there was nothing outrageously dirty about that hit. Like I said, these types of hits happen a lot and most of them don't get flags thrown. thebigweave 1 Quote

CSU had more than enough time to take a turn around his teammate to hit Hunter, he had time to stop. And he easily could have stopped. Ray Charles could see it wasn't a bang bang play. Quote

These hits don't happen that often. The ball literally landed in front of the CSU player and then he went to make the hit. And the GIF is actually sped up just a hair and you can still see it. It's 100% on the defensive player. He had no reason to even try and hit him. 1. The ball was overthrown. 2. WR quit on trying to catch it. 3. The ball hit the ground, literally right in front of the defender before ever even making a move towards Hunter. It's a moronic play by a moronic player. Quote

So, if the safety played to the ball, which we both agree he did, perhaps #12 letting up after the QB failed on the throw actually makes it looks worse than it was? Quote

We don't agree he played the ball. Because he didn't. He didn't try and hide what his intentions were. Before or after the hit. It's actually embarrassing for anyone to believe he was making any sort of football play. It's the type of play Brad Davison would make, without being smart enough to try and hide it a little. Quote
