Yogi Ferrell - Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (Montonegro)

Recommended Posts

Yogi came off the bench last night for the Mavs after having been in a starting role virtually from the first day they signed him.  Today these tweets from Earl Sneed a Mavs beat writer.

Rick Carlisle says Yogi Ferrell's benching on the night he got his Rookie of the Month award shows "No good deed goes unpunished" in the NBA.

Rick Carlisle adds that Yogi Ferrell played well off the bench vs. the Clippers, and he sees Yogi as a great "utility player" in the NBA.

So proud of Yogi. We were critical of him at times on here in the past but this last season made us all realize how valuable he was to the team. A hard worker and a leader--glad to see him tearing it up in the NBA. And I will say it --I miss him as a Hoosier!

Yogi's gonna get a lot of minutes.

The Mavericks could be severely shorthanded Tuesday night in their third matchup against the Kings (30-47), listing Barnes (rest), veteran guard J.J. Barea (rest), sharpshooter Seth Curry (left shoulder) and 13-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki (sore right Achilles) all as questionable. Meanwhile, the Mavs have already ruled swingman Wesley Matthews (rest) out for Tuesday’s contest.

I expect a lot of rest for the vets on the Mavs over their last games. They want to get the best pick possible now that they're out of the playoff hunt.
