hoosha61 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yogi, There are no words to describe how much I've enjoyed watching you play. You exemplify what being a Hoosier player should be. I hope the progress you've made on the court these last four years is only surpassed by your growth as a man. Your legacy is one of winning and leadership, your name will forever be mentioned as one of the GREATS! Good luck and God bless. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
IUfanNcinci Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Thank you Kevin Yogi Ferrell for everything you exemplify IU basketball... Can't put into words how much we are going to miss you. Quote
mattabbott33 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Thank you for everything Yogi! Hoosier Nation will always love you! You are one of the Indiana Greats! You went out remembered as a winner like you wanted. Quote
Jackie 'Duprat' Barrett Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yogi, I could not be more proud of the four years you gave our Hoosiers and the awesome leadership you showed during that time. You leave IU as one of my all-time favorite IU players. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping bring back the Hoosiers to National prominence. I also wish you all the best in a what I know is an even more exciting chapter to come for you! Quote
Indyanna63 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 What a great kid with a lot of heart and grit, who turned into a great leader and good example for other players to emulate. Thanks Yogi. It's been a pleasure watching you play for our beloved Hoosiers! Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I couldn't ask for a better role model for my son to emulate. Thanks Yogi. No doubt you'll be a success regardless of your career path. Quote
OliviaPope40 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yes he made one mistake during Little 5 his sophomore year but he grew up and learned from it and he knew that he was going to have to be the leader and the glue that held the team together. Can we get on the ballot in November? Quote
KB0 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 What a career. 6th all time on IU's scoring list with a total of 1,986 1st all time in assists with 633. 88 assists ahead of second place This season he averaged 5.6 apg. 2nd best apg in IU history behind Isiah's 5.7 10th all time in made field goals 2nd all time in made 3-pointers. 11 behind AJ Guyton Most games started in IU history I'm sure I missed a few others as well. The numbers are definitely impressive, but Yogi's consistency was the most important for me. Every single game you knew that you could count on him in some way or another. The way he developed into the leader the team needed this year says a lot. Thanks Yogi. Bobman1, Walking Boot of Doom, WayneFleekHoosier and 4 others 7 Quote
ellen.walden Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 You have made us proud. You will forever be the greatest player who has worn the number 11 and that is saying a lot. I think the pros would be stupid not to draft you. I just wish you the best of luck in your basketball years ahead. Quote

Popular Post mdn82 Posted March 26, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2016 This thread makes me cry! I absolutely love all of you guys. Even the critics are appreciated because you all made Yogi stronger, better, tougher. Just know he gave all he had. Much love! I'll make sure he sees this thread!! Doc thank you and your family. After reading the articles the last few days everyone played their role in turning Yogi into the leader IU needs. I can take pictures around my neighborhood of every kid in IU jerseys or shirts trying to emulate your son the day after a loss. You don't get that everywhere. I grew up trying to be Damon Bailey. These kids are growing up trying to be Yogi Ferrell. That is a testament to your sons's hard work and family's efforts with him. Str8Hoosiers, pappy1865, Bowhunter and 10 others 13 Quote
Bowhunter Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yogi was so special in many ways! Was awesome to see him grow year after year. He left his mark here at Indiana University. Now he moves on to better things. I can already here coach Crean when he's out on the recruiting trail.. I think you can be the next Yogi Ferrel! :) ALASKA HOOSIER, JAJAHOOSIER and DocLibby 3 Quote

Trish Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Top 5 favorite hoosiers. This kid will be in the NBA next year. I can't name a better PG in the draft this summer. He's got it all. Would be a nice second round pick for any NBA team. Thanks for everything Yogi. Quote
