Fair enough. Actions do have consequences. He did put himself in that position, yes. And he has others to thank for that along with himself.

I don't buy that there were serious issues or that the program was out of control. Not that you are arguing this but the sentiment has been made in the past. Guys just got caught. Nothing truly nefarious

Absolutely, and thanks for posting this. After finding out information (thanks fellow mods lol) about the Holt and Davis incident, it sucks that he was dismissed. I understand it completely because something had to be done, but it was somewhat of a raw deal. He would have been a very solid player for IU.

agree. Liked him as a player and person (from what I could tell). Needed to be a bit more thoughtful considering all circumstances though, I suppose.

I couldn't disagree more. Emmitt got such a raw deal. Would love the idea of him coming back, and it isn't unprecedented.

I couldn't agree more with you Pap.

I'm with you because they had to do something. But like you also said there was more to the Holt/Davis incident that most don't know. I'd welcome Holt back with wide open arms and I think Crean would too.

I think Troy will be leaving. Bryant needs to work way too much on his pick and roll defense. But I think he'll test the waters. Emmitt could come back. Would be pretty cool. Give us some needed depth down low. Someone that will work their azz off too.

Help an old man out.  You mentioned it's not unprecedented but I can't for the life of me remember another player kicked off, left IU and who later returned to the team.

My apologies, I didn't mean at IU. I was just talking about players leaving at the collegiate level. DJ Pettway (Bama), Everett Golson (ND), Randy Ramsey (Ark) are a few examples.

After the game against Michigan where Crean went up and yelled something towards Jeff Meyer, who once was an assistant under Kelvin Sampson, many people who weren't IU fans and didn't know much about Crean, disliked him very much. Even I didn't like that move, but Crean has shown tremendous respect and he seems like a genuine guy who is the same in front of the camera as he is in private. This season has really changed my attitude towards Crean and what would make me love him, is a Final Four. Now let's go out and go to Houston!

Regarding Holt. Wasn't it HMP's beer and he just took the fall (still not sure why he'd do that though). At least, that's what I thought the rumor was at the time of the incident.

Vodka but yes. He was too loyal there! On that note..what do you guys think guys like hollowell, Perea, and Patterson are thinking on the outside looking in?
