Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Jankovic would be my number one guy as of now, but I would also gladly go after Savon Goodman to replace Troy with if he decides to leave. Plenty more options will come out though. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Dwayne Morgan either. We already recruited him quite a bit. If we return most of our guys, we could afford to take him and let him develop while sitting out a year. Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Jankovic isn't nearly as strong downlow as Max has been this year, but his step back he hit over Robert Carter was a perfect example of his talent. He is more athletic than Max and can be a HUGE advantage at the 4 beside TB. Wow that would be a special combo. I have faith Crean will make this roster a contender once again regardless of what happens. People seem to think 3 Sweet Sixteens in 5 years and 2 B1G outright titles in 4 years is an easy accomplishment. I have been on Creans bad side w substitutions at times as well as in bounds plays, but he is such a great fit for this program. If he leads us further this year I'd say his extension was a great idea. He doesn't need another one though ;) Quote

TB, Davis, and OG could guard 5s. Janks as a stretch 4 in a power conference could be a huge mismatch. That would also give TB, OG, DD, and JMor a slight different type of player to practice against for a year. Napleshoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

I would compare Jankovic to a more athletic C-Wat. Not saying the numbers would match up quite the same, specially seeing how he would be our 3rd or 4th option on offense, but I love the mismatches our front line would create. OG should be our starting 3 or 4 next year. Newkirk or Rob, JBJ, OG, Jankovic, TB would be an amazing line up. Quote

He is versatile enough you could even through some high-low in with OG cutting on the weak side, RoJo or JBJ replacing. A second unit of DD, JMor, and Hartman wouldn't be bad at all. Fun to think about. Quote
Kepner Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 This is a pretty in depth conversation about someone who hasnt even announced intentions of transferring hahah. I think we are all ready for gameday HoosierAloha and ThompsonHoosier 2 Quote

Tom White Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Cujo and Green are good high school shooters. JBJ, one of nations best shooters, Rob starting to stake his claim too. Get those guys healthy. Excited about next year too, unless we get NBA sniped. A lot of talk in this thread about shooters, scorers, slashers....... We need defenders too. Especially if JBJ is going to be playing. Gonna have to cover for him. So, are any of the guys coming in of any worth defensively? Quote

Bobman1 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 The Pitt guy and Jankovic both sound like excellent options for next year. Now we actually have to gain legitimate reasoning and interest behind the transfers and we will be very solid as long as we don't get "NBA sniped". Quote

Hoosiers219 Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 Next couple months should be interesting. Love to see a stretch 4/wing coupled with a true PG. A grad transfer would be ideal. It seems like Thon is both a stretch and a reach, but like to see him in the candy stripes. Grad transfer true PG would be a "bit of alright" as well. Could we do both? I must concede I love following the moves after a season has come to an end. WayneFleekHoosier and DawgBawls 2 Quote

I want another BIG basketball player. Thon is most interesting to me of the known commodities. Even if Thon is raw offensively, his length on D with DD, OG, TB would be terrifying to other teams. Agree, if Rob makes strides or if Newkirk is "that guy". I haven't really seen to many people confidently stating what Newkirk brings to the table. It was my understanding he was to fill this role, but again...the accolades seem conspicuously absent. (I do believe there was a blurb from CTC, but that is all.) I would welcome some feedback or analysis from anyone who has knowledge about this unknown quantity. Thon would fill the spot nicely. A grad stretch four/wing would also be sweet. It will be fun to watch who becomes available. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Honestly, more worried about what a team with Thon Maker and Troy Williams would look like. I don't really want Crean to waste the time and focus on developing a raw talent like Thon and only get one year out of him. Quote

Not that we get him anyway, but I see him being recruited in Troy's spot. Quote
