Bittersince87 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 MSU is the last team in the country (maybe other than Kansas and Virginia) I want to play right now. They match up very well against us, have an all-time great head coach, a NPOY senior guard, depth, and they are running hot right now. They have the best offense in the country (#1 KenPom) and a top 30 defense (#27 KenPom). I think any other team in the B1G is a win for us with the way we're playing right now. You can't be afraid to play the best. I think yogi has evolved from even the last time we played them. Bryant and Troy have also have gotten better by slowing down a bit and not forcing things. In order to be the best we'll eventually have to play one of those teams. It will be a close game no doubt but I want to see them playing the best. I'd certainly rather see what we look like against them in the Big Ten Tourney (and force the committee to separate us some more by having played twice) than to face them or a team like them in the Tourney without any additional experience. If we only play the very best teams in the country this month, you'll remain bitter for at least another year. Quote

I'm the one who said I can think we can win against MSU. Your the one afraid to play them because " they match up well against us" . And so far I'm happy that someone got to Coach Creans ear ( per sources like Wilbon) and changed his tactics ( which you'd look like a fool if u denied that fact). I always said he was a nice guy but until this year a horrible in game coach. If we make it to the elite eight I'm good and I say keep him . I just don't like your inherit bias ( your last two user names serves as proof) and ability to manipulate and bend info to suite your argument without looking at the whole picture. Quote

My friend, your name says you've been bitter for 29 years, which I was referencing. Present factual arguments to my posts you disagree with, and I will gladly discuss with you. Until then, keep hatin' player. For the record, my username prior to #1 Crean Apologist (which was a joke) was jurkinonthecourt. I'm not sure what kind of a bias that one insinuates, but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my opinion of CTC. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

colonel06 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Why is the B1G Tournament so difficult historically for IU? With our Mo going can this be different this year? Quote
MartintheMopMan Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Why is the B1G Tournament so difficult historically for IU? With our Mo going can this be different this year? Historically? It started after we were good (1998). Since the start of the BTT, we've only been to the second weekend of the Tourney 3 times. We've missed it entirely 6 times. Our best tournament teams are 2002, 2012, 2013. 2002 we played it close on Saturday and lost by 2, so we didn't make it to the next level. We played like a Mike Davis team and it wasn't enough. 2012 and 2013 we hit kryptonite (Wisconsin) Quote
HoosierAloha Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 There are potentially really great matchups in the third round; Iowa vs. pu and UW vs. Maryland. Then IU vs pu and UW vs. MSU in the semi-finals!! Quote
