All the Troy money talk...I feel like we're arguing the same thing from different ends.

No doubt he is looking for the best way to get paid. Like any other NBA prospect. If he were looking for the fastest way to get paid he would have went overseas after HS, to Magnanimous's point.

If it makes sense to leave, he will. But if he is going to have to try out for an NBA team based on his evals, then how in the world does it not make sense to come back and try to play your way into the first round w some actual guaranteed money?

I don't think his Uncle is going to let him make a mistake, regardless of what Mom thinks.

Agree to disagree. Two years of physical growth before being paid the Euros.

My biggest concern next season deals less with personnel and more with leadership.  If Troy returns does he mature and step up as a leader?  Does RoJo take over as leader?  Do players allow Hartman's voice to be heard and he steps up?  I have some concerns about leadership after Yogi really stepped up throughout this season.

A Grad Transfer my be a good bet then.  Newkirk is pretty experienced also though

max, Z, Rojo, Hartman, and Yogi made it a majority voice. That helps. Plus OG, TB, Juwan are good kids.

I think TB could be a vocal leader if he gets his emotions in check a little.

Call me crazy but I kind of like our 2016/17 roster if the expected return and can stay healthy. If TB bolts, that changes things unless we have a recruiting ace up our sleeve.

Newkirk may be good for what we need. Having DD, TB, Hartman, Juwan, and OG sounds so nice for depth. Idk. I'm not super worried yet. I like Green and Cujo and I think Crean makes one more splash with Grad or another Croot.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe with an experienced grad PG.

Looking at the schedule next year it isn't too bad.  I made some basic assumptions and I think I can reverse engineer most of our schedule next year.

* They want to alternate Home and Aways setting aside years where teams play twice.  So we played @ Nebraska last year, then played them twice this year.  So next year we should play at AH.

* They don't want teams playing Home and Aways 2 years in a row.  Mean we won't play any of the same 5 teams we played this year twice.

* They want every team to play home and aways before they start repeating.

^ If all those assumptions are true our schedule will look something like this

Home Games

MSU

Penn State

Michigan

Northwestern

Wisconsin

Illinois

Rutgers

Nebraska

And then one of these:

OSU

Maryland

Purdue

Away Games

@ Maryland

@ OSU

@ Iowa

@ Purdue

@ Michigan

@ Penn State

@ Northwestern

@ Minnesota

@ MSU

@ Rutgers

Assuming we can avoid another @ MSU our away schedule isn't too difficult.  Not sure what the teams are looking like next year.  But I know Iowa is going to drop off.  Not sure about Maryland and Purdue.  OSU will be tough but they always are.

Winning out at home will be alot more challenging but that much more important though.

^^  To add to that here is a list of some of the OOC games next season.  I didn't realize we had several solid to great games lined up.

KU - here on Pearl Harbor

UL - Banker's Life Fieldhouse

B1G/ACC - at home

Butler - Crossroads Classic, BLF

Gavitt TIpoff - road game (?)

IPFW - Ft. Wayne Memorial Coliseum

Inside The Hall

Edit:  That actually looks like a really, really solid OOC schedule depending on what ACC opponent we get at home and what opponent and where we play the Gavitt Tipoff game.  That's the OOC schedule I've wanted for awhile if we cut the 250+ games to 100-200 range.

Him looks like the team will have alot of winnable games but still tough games.  Real chance to prove themselves next year.

As long as we don't go crazy with our cupcakes this is a really solid schedule.

-  Neutral court games against good to great competition

-  In state opponent away from Assembly Hall (give fans who can't make it to AH a chance to see the Hoosiers)

-  Possible true road game in Gavitt Tipoff against good competition (East Coast would be good for Hoosiers on the right coast)

-  Marquee ACC opponent for season ticket holders/students

That's three games against power 5 opponents, two against the Big East, and two instate teams.

ACC opponent will be roughly determined by where we finish in the Big Ten right? So, no worse than Duke and more likely UNC or U Miami. Risk of UNC is if sanctions are handed down over the summer and they end up significantly weaker.

Wait, is it? How did we end up with Duke this year? They were top of the ACC.

Miami would be a great opponent for us I think

I believe it's a combination of projected finish, marquee matchups, and home/away rotation.  I thought the commissioners got together with inputs from athletic directors input to create the schedule?

Miami would be a good opponent but maybe not the marquee name some would want.  They also are due for a home game.  A return game against Dook would get fans excited, UNC in the Hall has potential for good times, or maybe a Pitt or Syracuse?
