I really hope people don't think we end up as the "default" option for Romeo IF we land him. Archie has done a great job making progress with him and has made us a very legit contender. He deserves a ton of credit. U of L and maybe now Kansas did this to themselves.

Since before the Crean firing, I thought we'd have a chance at Romeo with a competent, not awkward coach. Then the Archie hire had me suuuuper optimistic. When he landed like 5 four stars in 2 hours, I got confident that he was the man (if anyone) who could get the job done with Romeo.

U6 getting busted just made everything 10x easier, and I've thought we'd be Romeo's destination since then.
And there's even an extent that being the "default option" isn't bad, or a reason to discount the signing if Romeo is smart enough to realize IU is the only school he likes that's doing things the right way. Just makes it a no-brainer.

well...Cody Zeller was from Washington...that's pretty far south.
Sherron Wilkerson from Jeffersonville, played at IU.
Damon Bailey was from Bedford.
Calbert Chaney was from Evansville (right on the Ohio River)
Michael Lewis was from Jasper
Brian Evans was from Terre Haute


from New Albany? nope, can't find any...but I think Purdue got a couple from New Albany over the years it that tells you anything.

I mean, look at the advantages. KU- Play with other great players and decent chance at a National Title. Vandy-none that I can see. IU-All of us on here can list a myriad of reasons to stay home, but being a sentimental old guy, family first!
