Popular Post The Ola Depot Posted December 30, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 30, 2015 I guess the downside to being a football school is all these players leaving for the NFL Bobman1, thebigweave, Hovadipo and 11 others 14 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Definitely not news we expected or wanted, but now that we're a football school, "we don't rebuild, we reload". BtownBanner6, mdn82, Bobman1 and 2 others 5 Quote
ThompsonHoosier Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 That's an odd decision. He has a lot of potential but I haven't seen him on any draft boards. Best of luck to him! Quote

Wonder if he just wanted to try and get paid instead of staying in college.I wonder due to his suspension earlier in the year if he and college aren't a good fit for each other. I don't mean that in a disparaging way either. mdn82, Naturalhoosier, HoosierReb01 and 7 others 10 Quote
Kilroy Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Can't fault him. Bigs generally have a pretty short window before injury takes them out for their career. Get paid and move on. Naturalhoosier 1 Quote
johnsoniu Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Not entirely surprised. Kid has talent. Best of luck big guy. Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 With his athleticism, he should impress during the combine. Best of luck Latham! Naturalhoosier 1 Quote
MartintheMopMan Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I wonder due to his suspension earlier in the year if he and college aren't a good fit for each other. I don't mean that in a disparaging way either. I can't help but think the same. He hasn't been on any draft boards I've seen and it's already a fairly deep draft at DT. Since the most important thing in career length and ability to earn over time in the NFL is when you're picked, it seems like a weird decision without really promising news for him. Quote
HoosierReb01 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 PFF College @PFF_College Indiana DT Darius Latham's strong season flew under the radar across the nation mamasa 1 Quote
LockdownD Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Is this a situation where if Darius doesn't hire an agent, he would be able to return to school? colonel06 and Naturalhoosier 2 Quote

I don't mean that in a disparaging way either. Agree 100%. It's tough, because I think another year of hard work and effort could result in a better draft position. But I'm sure there are many things at play here with his decision. And if it's time, then it's time. Quote
Hoosier116 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Is this a situation where if Darius doesn't hire an agent, he would be able to return to school? Not positive on this but pretty sure that when they declare they are gone. Unlike college bball where they take an eval period to test the waters. With 7 rounds most are apt to stay anyway. I hope he gets drafted. Just don't see his name on anybody's board at all. LockdownD 1 Quote
TrueHoosier62 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Wish he'd have stayed, the defensive line was beginning to come along nicely. Hope we have some underclassmen ready to step up. Quote
RBB89 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Apparently he has been invited to the combine. Walking Boot of Doom and BtownBanner6 2 Quote
BtownBanner6 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 is that good? It can be gives him a chance to raise his stock for sure if he can impress. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
ccgeneral Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 NFL combine Feb. 23 - 26. Guess we don't have a thread on Suds yet. Quote
ccgeneral Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 @dpbrugler: #Indiana DT Darius Latham received a "go back to school" grade, but felt it was time, didn't want to risk injury. Quote
