What's more sad?

People saying that stuff (which every team has those idiots

Or

People taking the time to poke fun at Cards fans (let's be realistic, there's a good chance that is not ran by a Cardinals fan)

I agree. It annoys the hell out of me when it's done to the Cubs with memes or just random stupidity. Everything in baseball should be said between the lines.

It's funny to me because of the group of Cardinals fans that go wayyyy out of their way to talk about being the "best fans in baseball/sports/the world" and how they "do it the right way". Then someone (a Cubs fan, likely) makes this account to show that Cards fans are no different than any other fanbase. The "best fans in baseball" crusaders bring the hatred upon themselves, big time.

@pgammo

Jayson Heyard is 8 years, $184M with two opt-outs.

2:46 PM - 11 Dec 2015

Basically the first opt-out is after year 3.  This is an expensive 3 year deal.  If something happens where he gets hurt or he likes what he is getting paid, he can go until he is 31 on the 2nd opt out.  That is genius on this part.  He gets to make $25 million on his part for 3 years.  If he can make more, he will opt out.  If not, because he is starting to get to the Bryce Harper FA years he will stay locked in.  Even if this deal is fronth loaded with $30 million annually, there is a good chance he opts-out.  The Cubs payroll is in fantastic shape due to the young kids.  Then they have their TV deal in 2019.

Cardinals are now being rumored to pursue:

- Gordon
- Cargo
- Cueto

I don't see Chris Davis if he's demanding a ton. Just curious to see if they do pursue CarGo, if they will trade Adams/one of Cooney, Marco, or Lyons to try and get him? We will see.

Cards offered jhey more than the Cubs

I'm curious if it was more about the specifics of the deal, not the money itself. The Cards rarely offer big contracts like this, and I highly doubt they would allow a player to have two opt-outs. I could be completely wrong, but the Cards are very careful, too careful at times. Doubt we will ever know.
