rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Pretty good opposition research there! Even their student section was better prepared for the game than our team was! IU Hoosier41, OliviaPope40, MartintheMopMan and 1 other 4 Quote

JSHoosier Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 It's not up to Thomas to fix it!! There were posters saying adding Bryant would go a long ways to solving our defensive woes. Nope, still horrid at the fundamentals. Only real difference is now they'll border on looking competent at that end for a stretch before deciding they don't want to play defense. Quote

I've said it a few times, but we're getting worse defensively. The players who were OK last year are just bad this year. The players who were bad last year are awful. TB had very good fundamental knowledge of where he should be during the first few games and seems to have less and less of it as the season goes on. Remember when we were so high on him because he knew how to play true post? What the heck happened to those basics? What is going on during practice and film sessions to actively make these players worse? sirhoosierlot, Class of '66 Old Fart, JaybobHoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

What is going on during practice and film sessions to actively make these players worse? The impact he had on our defense was always going to be limited. Some of our biggest problems on defense last season were fundamental and coachable yet showed no improvement, Bryant wasn't going to do anything to solve those. It's true this season as well, for all the talk we are not any better at the basic defensive fundamentals that made us so horrid last season. Crean said we're not good enough on ball, but he's wrong. We're not good enough, or even 'good', at any aspect of defense and not just on ball. Quote

But, it should have been an impact in our weakest spot and allow the rest of the team to focus on playing traditional defense instead of having to make up for not having any size. Turns out the rest of the team can't play traditional defense either. Quote
