Man time flies and I went to the bowl game that year as well and now I'm living in tempe 5 blocks away from the stadium where they played OK state. I will be there this year when we play 13 as well

There's no reason both bands can't go. Texas/OK, UGA/UF make it work. Plus it's a short trip. The Hundred will be in WL this Saturday. They always travel for that. Typically they just shorten the band performances. That's what they do at bowls (neither opposing band can perform on the field at the games on campus though...we agreed to that a while back...gotta stay in the stands). My reasoning is that since the game is always on Thanksgiving weekend now, it won't really affect student attendance. There was a tiny student crowd last year and I expect the same this weekend. Most aren't going to stay for these two teams, although since we are playing for a bowl, I expect some of our students to trek up there. We should have a nice crowd.

But, I like games on campus too. In conclusion, POTFB.

Like I said, I'm extremely biased. But not being able to perform isn't the same. I've made that trip to Purdue for the game, it's a tiny volunteer pep band (barely fills up a single bus). IU doesn't provide a big enough budget to have the entire band make that trip even if it was made mandatory. Plus, the bucket game was my last performance with the MH. If I couldn't be on the field for my last game it would've been a huge disappointment for me.

Don't worry, I see all of the upside pertaining to attendance and such, this is just my biased opinion as a band member. Especially since bands' roles are being diminished at schools around the country.

Just curious, when were you in the band? I could swear we brought most, if not all of the Hundred last time up there, and the cheerleaders. We've played 3 of the last 4 in Bloomington though, and you would know better than me. Hundred website says they will be there, so even if it's a pep band, that's a few more people to help POTFB.

And I agree, games on campus are special. And I love bands. I don't play an instrument, but I love the whole gameday atmosphere. I despise OSU, but the script Ohio and stuff like that always gets me going.

Last season was my fourth year, so in 2012 I went with the pep band to the PU game. It usually ended up being a skeleton crew of members, but that can still seem like a lot when you have a 275+ person band.

Gotcha. Well I love bands, so kudos for putting in the time.

Over under 50℅ chance of Howard getting 15 carries this Saturday? If he doesn't play, are the Hoosiers still 7 point favorites? I'm worried about our secondary making either Purdue QB look like Peyton Manning. Go IU!

We may be 7 point favorites with Vegas assuming Howard doesn't play. Purdue actually sucks. That only means so much, the bitter rivalry means that the better team doesn't always win. IU better bring their "A" game.

Your post contained no POTFB proper, but did say Purdue sucks, so I'm giving you a pass this time.

I'll just put this here and let the mods decide what to do with it (I don't see it anywhere else, if it is just delete this). Jason Spriggs to the Senior Bowl.

Yeah, not only that but several Hoosiers have made the cuts in awards lists. Off the top of my head, Suds is in the running for the Senior Class award, final 3 for the Wuerffel (sp?) award, I think Spriggs has serious consideration for the Outland and there are a few other awards that I haven't kept up with.
