We're down to the final two teams, the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers.  For the 5th straight year a team from Florida is in the finals.  The state owns the sport.  A Canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup in more than 3 decades and f*** em, no reason to end that streak now.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!

BTW, this happened 45 years ago today. Greatest moment in U.S. sports history, IMO. The teams had played just before the Olympics -- the Soviets won 10-3, and it wasn't that close.

This was on a Friday afternoon and wasn't even broadcast live. ABC aired it on a tape-delay.

Still gives me goosebumps!

Back then, there were three networks and a PBS channel -- and you needed a good antenna to get them. No cable (at least where I lived). No streaming. No hundreds of channels. Just three networks.

Ah -- those were the days.
