Paul Biancardi at ESPN released his updated 2016 rankings this morning.

The entire article can be found here ----> ( http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings )

Hoosier targets:

15 - Rawle Alkins
30 - Bruce Brown
32 - Mario Kegler
34 - Jaylen Fisher
48 - De'Ron Davis
57 - Curtis Jones

How does the class rank in total vs other schools

247sports compisite ranking says Indiana's recruiting class is the 18th best, 2nd in the Big Ten behind MSU (4). http://247sports.com/Season/2016-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings

ESPN has Indiana's class at 17. http://insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/classrankings

I do think you could make a very strong case that 3 out of the 4 are underrated. Thus, the class may be better than it's ranking. Class rankings are kinda stupid anyways because who really cares? I mean, I get it but it's more about how that class fits with your current roster because that's the impact point.

How would you (roughly) rate each member of the class?

I agree with this too. All it really shows is the strength/size of the freshman class you are bringing in. Say you only have one scholarship open, but land the #1 recruit. Is that really a worse class than a school that signs 3 players somewhere in the teens and twenties? Like you pointed out, you never know how the incoming class will mesh with returning players.

How it fits is normally taken into account with class rankings.

Thanks. I agree somewhat with Pap but over time it is good to see us bring in classes ranked in the top 25. I honestly think Crean may be better with classes full of 3/4 star kids like this one that classes full of 5/4 star kids.

The lower ranked kids likely tend to fit well with how he leads and the tools we have to get better if you work some on your own.

Still think you may need to add a couple of high end guys to help get over the hump when JBj and TB leave but we have a year to fix that.

How? Pretty certain it's just based on individual player ratings. Plus, I don't think any recruiting site actually puts their scoring methodologies out there.

I dont think it has much weight. But if two schools are "tied" then they need something to break that.

You have something that says this is used? I've never heard that "fit" is a consideration, nor why a recruiting service would have a reliable means for evaluation fit by team.
