Fingers crossed for Wilkes if we get Smith. No one else is worried about this except me.

I definitely am, but all that would (should) get cleared up this weekend during his official visit.  If Smith commits, the timing is good in that regard, because I'm sure he'll have questions for the staff on their ability to play together.

I mentioned this quite awhile ago. Wilkes isn't concerned about losing minutes to Smith, but other coaches are in his ear about where that puts him on the floor when Smith is on.

I think they can play together with no problem. My issue is more about the 5 man class. We will have 2. Wilkes makes 3. Guard and Big makes 5. Has to be room. Going to get tight. The Durham fit makes least sense with how the roster is assembled.

It's actually fairly stupid, so Crean SHOULD be able to weather that storm but coaches are pointing to examples where this thing happened. Vonleh was told he would play outside, Watford was told he would play on the wing primarily, etc.

I agree. I'm just telling you Wilkes is pretty adamant about not being used as a 4.

I KNEW that having Troy and Hollowell handle the ball too much could have some purpose, some day.

I just have that feeling that there is a logjam at the guard position.  I think there will be a guard, besides JBJ, that transfers out after this coming season.  That will be two spots at the guard, Hartman (maybe), OG, and Bryant.  There will be roster turnover.

My biggest concern with this class is a big.  JSmith at the 4 doesn't concern me, McSwain and JMo at the 4 doesn't concern me.  Wilkes at the 4 concerns me.

Wilkes doesn't even want to be a stretch 4?

Is Smith ok with being one?

Nope. Wants to move his game away from the hoop. That's been a staple of his recruitment and when you break down the roster like Wayne did above you begin to see where the minutes really are.

Vonleh would have been perfect with another big like Zeller, Bryant, or Fischer... Watford pretty much played on the wing his last two seasons minus those games he played the 5 when Zeller was on the bench.
