Does Coach Crean change his play calling...

I think Coach Crean got a gift from heaven.  Unlike with Zeller and Vonleh (just my opinion), he has a chance to change course and show future big men that they can be a big part of his offensive schemes and develop their games. So does he? And does he hire an assistant Coach that has experience coaching up big men?

He hasn't ever done it in the past. And hasn't really ever shown much towards actually changing anything in how he coaches. Would be great if he did, but don't find it all that likely

The real issue is; will CTC adjust and improve his defensive strategy and philosophy?

One big upgrade from Bryant compared to our Bigs is Bryant's ability to pass out of the post. He is very good at this. He fires that ball. We must take advantage of this asset.

If we don't, I will lambaste Crean for it!

With all the heat us fans have put on Crean and Glass towards the end of the season I would HAVE to think changes in philosophy have been discussed. The guy kept his job and landed a five star big and possibly another 5 star big and appears to have kept the core in place. He has the keys to this Cadillac one more season and knows the fan base won't tolerate another collapse. Surely he is smart enough to figure out what we have been doing isnt working and look around cbb a little bit and find out what does work. He is here for next season and I will support him til I start to see the same crap we've complained about for 3 years. If he doesn't change he simply hung himself, IMO.

As far as the assistant is there any word on who Crean is looking at? I would love a NBA guy who can coach post offense and defense and still has ties to the league.

Nope. He'll have him at point guard by mid season. Crean had a big man in Zeller a few years ago and failed to utilize him correctly. Why would next year be different?

With only four guards returning and 1 of those being NZ who is a liability on defense I think Crean almost has to go to a more traditional PF and Center. Hate to say it but I hope he is sitting there taking notes on what Cal does with two bigs.
