Wow that duke game is so close, this year has really flown by....anyways I just don't see us beating duke but that's me. I think the Norte dame game is winnable but we will have to play to our max the whole game to get a W.

Agreed, playing in Durham less than a week after returning from Maui. I just hope it doesn't get ugly.

Wow. So many of us think we are going to stink it up in Maui and against Duke. I'm not with you guys on this one. I think we win Maui and beat Duke. We'll climb into the top 5, challenge for the B1G title, and run out of gas come tournament time. That's my prediction. Duke doesn't scare me at all, especially early in the season with their youth.

Duke does not have an established ball handler, and whoever they do put at point against us will be eaten alive by Yogi. Duke does have Plumlee (part of the "How is He Still Playing Squad"), Chase Jeter and Brandon Ingram in the post. It's a bit of a mismatch as Plumlee should be able to beat Bryant with experience, and Jeter and Ingram are just more athletic than Beifeldt. I'll take our guards over theirs, but ultimately, I think this game comes down to Yogi.

Maui scares me because of the variety of teams we'll play. It will be difficult to prepare for all of them, and I think that makes it easier for the more talented team to falter.

I won't lose sleep over Marshall Plumlee. He averaged a whopping 2 points last year. He doesn't seem to really even be interested in basketball. Chase Jeter will be a better match for Bryant

I don't think we'll stink it up in Maui. I think we have very little chance to win @Duke. I believe teams returning from Maui have a history of losing in the B1G/ACC Challenge, especially on the road.

Also have transfer Sean Obi in the post who will get some burn at 6'9 6'10"

I remember in 2011 Duke won the Maui and got destroyed at Ohio State a couple days later. I think it puts teams at a disadvantage but with IUs conditioning it may not affect them at all.

I'm assuming that flight time and 3 straight days of basketball this early in the season would be rough on anyone.

We don't have long to get real good or we will be out of top 25 and in crisis mode. Not saying season will be over but panic button will be on in full force with the majority of the fan base lol

Because of Maui you mean?

I don't think losing to Duke would drop our ranking more than a spot or two from where we are. First place in Maui would give us a nice boost. Second place about where we are, maybe a spot up. Third place a couple spot drop. Anything else is bad news.

No I was thinking more like second or third in Maui then come back and lose at Duke by 8 to 20 or so. Then any kind of loss to notre dame and I think it would be time for concern by a majority of fans. That is somewhere around 5 weeks from now. I am not saying this will happen and hope it dont. I do think depending on what other teams are doing it could drop us out of top 25 and not give us a good feeling going into big 10 play.

Sure maybe. We'd have to look not good in between too I think. If we come in second in Maui, and then lose to Notre Dame and Duke, but are absolutely whipping Creighton and Wake Forest on the way, it changes the outlook. If we're barely scraping by and then start losing winnable games, I could see us dropping.

I also don't expect that to happen. I already had my 40-0 shirts printed up and my tattoo appointment scheduled.

Wait, 41-0?

Someone count how many games we'd play if we won Maui, the Big Ten Tourney, and the Championship.

I came up with 41 also. I counted all games figured 3 in big 10 tourney and 6 in ncaa.
