Heard another angle on this which though a little new still fits with Crean not being the coach beyond the BTT.

Jake Query related that feelers were sent out to some potential candidates. One of the things learned in this process was that the candidates valued some time between Crean leaving and them coming. They did not want to feel like Crean was pushed out to bring them in. Thus, an interim period with an interim coach.

He may have talked more about who was contacted but this was the only segment I caught.

So assuming this is true, I can think of one candidate who I can see saying this. Not that they all didn't but one in particular I could see this being suggested.

It was not reported that they were close to an agreement with that person so there is certainly risk here. Nonetheless, thought I would share since I had not seen this angle discussed.

Don't read much into it. More like, someone won't be named coach quickly after a move is made. If interim coach happens, it would be for this season only.


So crean is gone before we have played our last game? Drama

I If you're thinking of who I'm thinking of 8bucks then I really hope this is right.

Well it could simply be one of the other guys who said that but it certainly seems to point to a couple of guys.

Just find some of the rumors very hard to believe re:Stevens

I am pretty sure now that he will listen but he has done that a lot in the past. You just don't know with him until He decides.

Could definitely see this happening if we miss tournament. That would mean the interim would be coaching the NIT games. Not sure how many people would care about that.

 

Or like 41 said I could see him getting fired after 1st or 2nd rd loss in tourney since NBA season isn't over until Apr 16th. That would be 3 weeks of interim or dead period.

 

All makes sense to me.
