Potential coaching change suggestions

You're either overestimating Hanner or underestimating Luke, bc he would have been way better than Hanner. IMO he would have started for us eventually last year and would have made us a tourney team then.

I disagree but maybe u r right I am not big on hanner but also not fischer. I just dont think having him gets us in big title talks is all I was saying. I just didnt feel like he had it but r luck he will go and become some superstar. Lol

As much as I hate him for spurning us among other things, Noah Vonleh or especially Trey Lyles is the real missing link. Adding either one of them makes us a legit contender in the public's eyes. I love a Trey's skillset.

We could play big with Rojo, Blackmon, Troy, Trey, Hanner or small with Yogi, Blackmon, Rojo, Troy, Trey. So many options.

Oh well, I am truly excited to see Hanner grow with the extra PT though.

No offense--Bryan--because you're relatively new to the Board----But we've beat this horse so may times on here--- there's no blood left in it!

Welcome to BTown Banners and I am glad you're here---but I will not be participating in this thread!

Coach Crean is here for this season and I will debate whether he should stay once the season is over.

lol, you realize he's been around here longer than you have? It just doesn't seem like it cause he's not as windy.  :103:

What about Jay Wright? I know hes kind of a pretty boy, but hes a solid coach and recruits well. Although he doesnt have much success recruiting the midwest. I actually like Brownell. He plays fundamental basketball and he would recruit better at IU.

Brad Brownell was the runner up to Crean the last time FWIW. Would probably bring Calbert back on staff as they were high school teammates at Harrison.

This is the type of coach I would expect IU to hire in the instance that there is an opening, after Stevens says thanks but no thanks.

Really?  We all know IU is coach Stevens' dream job and besides if he says no the boosters will throw enough money at him until he says 'Thanks, I'll be right over.'

Hahaha... yes, in the minds of many fans it's his dream job. Might I ask why he wasn't considered the last time since he was already a head coach? I mean, the guy is clearly a coaching savant... it had to have been easy to see, right? Or did he have his Dwyane Wade with Gordon Hayward?

Stevens is not leaving the Celtics to come in on a white horse to coach IU. He feels about Butler the way all of us feel about IU.

Nah, he's coming here whenever we give him the call.  Just think of it like a baseball player spending time in the minors.  He's been on the payroll for awhile.  We're just waiting until he's been seasoned in the minors.  Expect homer runs early and often when he gets his opportunity.

He was head coach for exactly one year before Crean was here. So no, he wouldn't have been considered then.
